This is one of the single strangest mytakes I have ever seen. You do realize half of those stores do not exist nationwide or or under other brands around the nation that most people aren't aware of? Plus, as somebody who worked in grocery, I can tell you right now that most "deals", coupons, and cards are horseshit and don't do much for you except make you think you are getting a good deal when really, it's just an excuse to punish non card holders with slightly higher prices. Only one on the list worth it is Dollar Tree. Walmart, Aldi, or Costco work just fine and they don't have any of that "card only price" or "10/10" bs deals. Also, try to order online if not a pain/more expensive.
Maybe publish this in a local paper or something instead of on an international website where it will likely sit here with nobody giving a shit?

The only two things you should never buy at The Dollar Tree are tupperware; those dollar ones gotta go in plastic bag, and have a rubber band around the lid or else your soup won’t make it to where you’re going. Secondly, never buy laundry detergent from them because you sometimes find laundry detergent powder residue on you clothes after washing and drying.

99 Cent Only Stores are only located in the western portion of the United States and Texas.
Sprouts is a grocery store chain that brands itself as a "farmer's market". That's the Southwest and Southern equivalent of Fresh Thyme.
H. E. B. Joe V stores are only located in Texas? I'm guessing that you live in Texas then.
Farmers' Markets are located everywhere, I presume. The best deals are the ones in-season right now, but of course, just because something is "in season" doesn't mean the food gets eaten. A person may simply buy fruits and vegetables at Farmers' Markets because they are in-season and thus cheaper, but at home, the berries would get moldy quick. This is why people preserve produce by freezing or canning. Preservation extends the shelf life.

Of course TX, where else? 99 cent only stores would be the cheapest out of all and the farmers market which can be in season or it opens on weekends. Berries don’t get moldy unless you know how to preserve them. The trick is squeeze lime or lemon juice on it. The acidity will preserve it.

During the process of canning, people may use heat to sterilize the fruits, then douse the fruits in sugary syrup or acidic fruit juice. That's how people do it at home and on an industrial scale. So, that's not different from your squeeze-lemon-juice-on-top-of-berries idea.

Food waste is actually a major problem around the world. In developing nations, food primarily gets wasted in the production phase; in developed nations, food primarily gets wasted in the consumption phase. And consumers are one of the biggest wasters. Some people just buy too much fresh produce and don't do any preserving, and so what happens? They waste a ton of food (also a ton of money). Those individuals would benefit from eating frozen and canned food instead of fresh food.

I wish everything at Dollar cost a $1, but that’s the gimmick they want us to believe to bring customers in. Budget store tactic. Dollar Tree isn’t in common places, it’s marketed to be in low income, lower ses communities. The difference between what I said and you said, canning reduces nutrients. Doing it naturally preserves nutrients and vitamins. Canning is also not healthier than buying fresh.

1. Everything at Dollar Tree literally costs $1.00. I've been there. I know. Family Dollar and Dollar General may have higher prices. Just because a product at Dollar Tree costs $1.00 may just mean you get a little bit of stuff or the quality is poorer.
2. Dollar Tree is a nationwide chain. 99 Cents Store is more or less supraregional.
3. Not all nutrients are lost in canned goods. Macronutrients are always intact, and for micronutrients, vitamin C has been found to be higher in canned fruit than fresh fruit even after storing for months in the pantry. Canned tomatoes are fully cooked, and you can absorb more nutrients in cooked tomatoes than fresh, uncooked ones.
4. If you are harvesting FRESH produce from your own garden, then you have to preserve the FRESH produce in some way, shape or form. You can can them, dry them, freeze-dry them (a very expensive procedure), salt them, pickle them and freeze them.

I’m glad you been there. I’ve been there too. That’s not the case for EVERY Dollar Tree though. Do you know about inflation in the north for budget stores? Did you know Dollar Tree did that for awhile to maintain sales? The quality has nothing to do with poorer quality it depends on what you buy. Of course, that’s what budget stores do. I can go to a DOLLAR TREE and see things on the shelf for $2, $3, $4, & $5. I’m not sure WHERE you live, but not EVERY Dollar Tree is NOT the SAME. You have a BETTER chance of getting FRESH fruits and vegetables if you buy FRESH and not canned, processed, and preserved.

Did you know that frozen fruits and vegetables actually retain more nutrients than fresh ones, especially if those "fresh ones" are transported over long distances?

That's why it's important to eat locally. However, just because something is "local" isn't always "green", because it does cost a lot of energy to create a greenhouse to grow tropical, non-native plants, which would otherwise be greener as imported products.

I miss shopping at Krogers here where live, a weird thing happened with Krogers. A few years back HarrisTeeter purchased Krogers causing the Krogers near us to close and the Kroger store was turned into a Harris Teeter pharmacy. The two years latter Krogers purchased Harris Teeter.

@Darcia Dude. I'm from North Texas. I know people who worked there locally and saw them myself. It's a company based in Ohio and it's a nationwide chain with multiple brands. To all here, it's NOT hard to do a quick Google search in order to not spew false info.

@Darcia Dude. I was talking about Texas because I'm also from there. Please reread. I also think perhaps you meant HEB as yes, regular HEB isn't as common in north Texas but trust me, it's popular in the few spots it exists in. Enough so that they want more of them built.
