I think they had it in once upon a time in hollywood 😂 But I guess if mouse exists for real, then it's the more glamorous of the two and just sounds more cleaner than rat simply because rat is more associated with sewer

Most main-stream pet food is made from parts of animals that we're already slaughtering for human consumption, but parts that we don't normally eat ourselves. Those parts would otherwise be discarded, so being able to use them as pet food is being efficient and earth-friendly.

A good question. Offhand, I'd think it's because no one commercially raises rats as a meat source. I'm also not sure how much of a market there'd be; but you could probably sell a certain demographic on it being more natural, since it's what they evolved to eat.
Rats and mouse carry diseases. Unless the company want to infect animals and go bankrupt they wouldnโt do that. Its a very nasty animal. Also not necessary to be in a pets diet. Though some snakes owners have to deal with that and i can guarantee you its a nasty sight to see
That is one of the many questions of life & that is a question that makes you go hmmmmmmmmm. Olive oil is made with olives, coconut oil is made with coconuts so the million dollar question is what is baby oil made of?

It might be bad for the cat do yo the amount of preservatives required to keep the food bacteria free and the smell of dead rats might attract living rats into your home.

Because rats taste awful. (Mice, too.) They're filthy disease-carrying creatures that even cats don't like.
Technically, it's a great idea but people would be too squeamish to buy it.

That would be a really good idea! I'm surprised that hasn't been tried yet.

Maybe it is rat flavored already. Who among us is tasting the cat food to make sure it actually tastes like the flavor on the package? The important thing is that they like to eat it and its healthy.
That's a really great question! I think cats like the chase rather than the taste of rats. My cat likes sprouts, but maybe he's strange?

My cat tells me that the fun with rodents is he gets to chase, torture, and kill them, and he is not so keen on eating them at all. He prefers caviar and smoked salmon.
