Do you prefer your slice of cake standing up or laying down on its side?

I like it standing up like this picture, I have been trying to get myself a piece of cake since Saturday but I keep falling asleep plus we had a lock down. I am going to make sure to get a piece today before I die from not having cake in my belly.

Depends on the cake.

some you need to take on their side, simply too moist to handle it standing and just collapse.

Also some really benefit from a good covering in cream, adds to the overall experience.

Laying down on its side so I don't have to constantly worry about it falling over. It's just simpler and takes less effort on its side. Besides, I don't think most people can fit a slice of cake in their mouth if it's cut from the top. Like that's 2 or 3 bites at least, generally. I think? If you cut it from the side you can cut half of the cake for your bite.

Makes it easier to add whip cream or ice cream to it. Not to mention easier access to the icing.
Besides, if it's too heavy, it's going to fall on its side anyway; so why not just serve it on its side?

I prefer to eat the cake standing up cause it seems to reserve the heaviest icing for me instead of being reduced by rubbing against the plate but if the cake isn’t even, I might have no choice but to eat it on its side.

On its side but opposite of how it is in that picture. The top of the cake should be to the left because I'm right handed. That way I can eat it from the bottom up, but each bite gets a little frosting in it.

Standing up looks more appetizing and aesthetic. When you go to a restaurant, you'll rarely find it lying sideways for that same reason.

It's usually easier to cut through with a fork when it's on it's side.. I guess it depends on how many layers? I don't know I'm not really a cake person.
