What should I do if my dad is really cruel to animals?

He would go fishing, bring home fishes and put them into plastic bags, into the freezer until they die. If it's lobsters or crabs, he'd boil them alive. It really angers me but i've told him about it and he won't stop.

He is nice person but is violent to things he considers food

There's nothing you can do. However, with the lobsters or crabs, you can ask him to "dispatch them" first.
I won't discuss that because different people have different methods to do that.

You CAN tell him this:
"Crabs take four to five minutes to die in boiling water, while lobsters take three minutes."
In other words, they are suffering as they are dying.
You can be snide and say "I guess the 8th Amendment's Cruel and Unusual Punishment Clause doesn't apply to the innocent."

If he sees that this is stressing you out, but you give him reasonable alternatives to humanely dispatch these animals, I think he just might take it...
If he doesn't, that says something about him and you may need to forever alter your relationship with him by being terse and cold like an annoying roommate you just wish wasn't there.. If he's not a dolt, he will notice your coldness toward him and maybe change his ways.

Well, many chefs do follow these traditional methods and for cooking reasons.
For instance, as the crab is dying in the boiling water, it will shed its legs in response. If you kill the crab beforehand, it won't do that.

Look, I am going to try and help you with your father and anyone else when you disagree or are upset with what they are doing. Don't just say what they are doing is "wrong" because people get very defensive with that word. Instead, make a suggestion to do something different (your way of doing it) and explain WHY it is better. However, bottom line, if you want someone to stop doing something, you NEED to give them a satisfactory alternative otherwise they have no reason to change other than to appease you which, in the real world, is worthless.

I guess you can call animal cruelty or something. It’s kinda a tough situation cause the proper way to kill those things is probably not that different from what he’s already doing I guess

What, doesn't he know how to kill it as painlessly as possible. For fish just behead them before freezing or cut the vein. For crab too but I am not sure how to do it for crabs

The fish are dead when he puts them in the freezer. And you boil lobster alive that's the way it's done
