How do you feel about drive-through workers not saying anything to you?

Not gonna lie, I'd find it rude. Part of customer service is doing the job with a smile. Doesn't matter if you work at mcdonald's or the Ritz.
No one's saying you gotta wipe my ass.
But even just saying "Is anything else we can do for you? Or thank you" Is enough.
Reason being is that sometimes when you place an order you may just forget an item, if you don't speak it kinda doesn't complete the transaction.
Maybe others have other views but think about any role in hospitality, where you do communicate with the customer. Most employers don't want you to think it's just "mcdonald's" you're supposed to be selling an experience.
Which should be pleasant.
I know some staff get abused but that is not acceptable and if they know who it is they should refuse service.
I hate the ones who act like it takes all the strength in the world to walk back behind the counter and get ketchup and utensils to put in my bag. Hoe you shouldve dropped it in my bag in the first place. Now go get my shit!
I was playin nice but i can be “that customer” if you wanna treat me like that
I was gonna pick you best answer but g@g already did I think @DizzyDesii haha
Its fine. Their job is to hand me the food. If they do so silently, they still performed their job. I'm just grateful anyone is willing to do such crap work for crap pay.
A bit rude. I don’t need a conversation, but I’d appreciate common social etiquette. It would make me feel unwelcomed and awkward if I didn’t get a hello and thank you.

It's awkward and rude to me. Fast-food workers are in the customer service industry. I expect a "have a nice day," when they hand me my bag. Even vending machines have customer service messages that say "Thank you." in-text lol. Why is that so hard? Ok, you make minimum wage, and? You picked the job. And then some of them have the nerve to have a tip jar at the window. Like what am I tipping you for exactly? Like we're supposed to tip them because they have a hard job or don't get paid enough. That's not how life works. A thank you and have a nice day should be the standard. I don't think I'm expecting too much.
I don't care I want them to go as fast a possible.
2. In the future a robot gonna be doing it in 5 years so it's not gonna say anything to you as well.
I’ve actually never had this experience, maybe I’m just in a pleasant area or something lol bc the workers always ask about my day or make a bit of small talk. Especially at Starbucks! 😭
Sometimes I find it rude. Other times it doesn't bother me, especially when I'm not in a mood for chit chat.
Drive through workers are literally the worst. Everytime I go to maccas my order is always wrong, they never give me my sweet and sour sauce that I pay for, they literally throw the bag at you before you have a chance to put your hand out and get it and they usually never say anything. I find it incredibly rude but I don’t usually care about that part too much
Where I'm from, they chat to you and call you "Darling", etc. When I went to bigger cities in North America they were rude as Hell.
Never experienced it, in my area drive-through workers are always pretty nice
It doesn't really bother me. As long as I get my food that's all I really care about
I get people have bad days or just don’t like to talk. I’m friendly and say hi and if they aren’t feeling it then no worries. Radios good too
Doesn't bother me they must be sick of saying have a nice day to people who couldn't care less
People buying cheap fast food need to quit acting like they are the damn queen of england.
🤣🤣🤣
trust me you dont want them to. Those poor people are timed on every customer and need to hustle.
its happened at least once, and it felt weird. that place is always empty too.
Never had that happen before, so I don't know.
I don’t care if I’m getting fast food I’m on the go
It might be rude but it doesn't bother me. I mean you almost have to demonstrate willful ignorance or contempt for me to be bothered.
Yeah that could be rude
Idgaf... im not there for conversation
I'd prefer it that way.
Yeah like at Popeyes they suck
