Do you like eating crab?

I love crab meat but I hate having to crack them open to pry out morsels. You have to wear a bib and get debris up to your elbows.

I'll eat it all day long if someone shells it for me. And crab cakes are wonderful!

My wife loves crab, too, and buys dungeness crab when it's in season. She's as happy as can be while merrily picking at them to get the meat. She actually enjoys it.
I, on the other hand, just can't wait to be done. I wind up feeling like I spent a half an hour clawing at food, just to get an ounce of meat.

I will gladly deal with king crab legs because it's easy to get delicious mouthfuls. But dungeness crab?

It might be necessary for me to clarify that my comment was deliberately over the top. A bit tongue in cheek, as it were. But the point is still valid.

I used to enjoy catching their little cousins in my local creek, but never tried to eat one.

I discovered crabs when moved to maryland and the thrill of having mounds of crabs ontop a table. I couldn't handle that, but I do like crab cakes.

So if it comes from a can and most of the shells are removed, it's good. the last can I got had a lot of crab shells. somebody "workin thos crabs" at the factory needs to up their game.

I do wonder why we haven't genetically engineered a "large crab"... for those big family get togethers...

Now let me say that crab is my favorite to eat of all the ocean life. Dungeness crab is at the very top of that list (King Crab is second).

I absolutely love cracking and eating Dungeness crab. It's fun and social. I don't wear the bib or the crab.

Cut the shell open, crack two big claws. Not very difficult. Forkfuls of meat. And to me, it even tastes better.
As I said, big King Crab legs aren't too difficult, either. But I'll let you and my wife work to get the bits of meat out of this small dungeness crab legs. Actually, the meaty part that the legs attach to is pretty easy.

Here in Central Florida we have a place called 'Boston Lobster Feast' where for about $45/person there's a buffet ALL the 1.5 lb lobsters, King Crab and London Broil you'd care to eat! When my 2nd wife & myself exchanged vows, rather than pawning some half-assed chicken breasts & a DJ to our wedding guests, I treated ALL to the feast and it STILL cost less than renting some fraternal venue hall!

My sister & her husband took a Alaskan cruise and stopped in Anchorage at a restaurant. She HAD to try the FRESH King Crab and her waiter asked "one 'joint' or two?" Her puzzled expression necessitated the Waiter to pop into their kitchen and returned with a 26" long King Crab's leg joint! Drawn butter? OF COURSE... :)

ewww crawfish tastes nasty to me actually! Every time I've had them they had a pungent flavor or something. No matter where I went! Maybe there are different breeds and the ones they server around here or something I don't know. Plus they are a pain in the ass to eat imho. So much work for so little return!

Its hella better than shrimp and I like shrimp and all. sweeter than crab meat too imho. But if they overcook it forget it. You need someone who KNOWS what they are doing.
