Has anyone thought of using "Chinese" 5 spice on an "Indian" curry?

It sounded kinda unorthodox but i remembered Indian curry can contain star anis, cloves, black peppers, fennel seeds and cinamon. But that is all what Chinese 5 spice is made of. I made Indian curry last night and i was just kinda lazy to get all those spices so i did use 5 spice instead. So i just used generous amount of curry powder and garam masala then a pinch of five spice. I wasn't really surprised that it worked just fine but i just think it sounded weird lol. But i'm not saying it is traditional.
