Yes, but I smelled it and looked closely at it first. The expiration date doesn't mean that sealed products are necessarily bad by that date. It's just a recommendation or precaution.
According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, manufacturers put “best by” or “best if used by” dates on their products to let retail stores and consumers know how long their products are expected to maintain their best taste and texture.
These dates aren’t required by federal law (though some states require them) and don’t necessarily indicate a product’s safety (with the exception of baby formula). In fact, perishable products are usually safe to consume beyond their “best by” date if they’ve been handled and stored properly.
You have to consider which you mean, the 'Use By' date or the 'Best Before' date.
If its only a couple of days past the 'Use By' (This is the date when the Manufacturers think it will be same to eat, but they usually are overly cautious) date I'll give it the sniff test - if it smells OK I'll eat it, unless the packaging is bloated then that usually indicates that something has gone off inside, so bin it.
With the 'Best Before' date that is something totally different this is the date when the Manufacturers think the food is still at its best, but it will not deteriorate significantly for a long period of time after that date.
The Manufacturers put those dates on to cover themselves legally, nothing more or less than that.
By law food must have an expiration date on it, usually 2 years for canned food. But it can last way past the expiration date. As long as the can is not bulging or leaking it is usually fine. I found a can of peaches in an abandoned homestead in the desert that was 5 years past the expiration date. The can looked fine so I ate them. They tasted find and had no ill effects. I guess play it by ear and play it safe if you have concerns.
A friend of mine stand a can of iced tea 🍵 that had been in my cupboard for over 4 years. Nothing happened to him.
The reason I kept the tea for so long was because it was that 🍑 PEACE tea with the ✌️Peace sign on it.
One time I has a small can of tomato paste explode in my cupboard. What a mess. I'm sure it was expired.

Of course. And usually, nothing. An expiration date isn't when food goes bad, it's when the manufacturer no longer guarantees it's not bad. If it's sitting in a powered freezer, it'll be fine. If it's a month or two after a properly sealed canned foodstuff's date, it'll be fine.
If the can of beans is bulging, that's botulism; toss it out.
Yeah, many times, cause you get discounts if you buy in bulk but I don’t do that as much now cause I once bought expired vegetables cause they were cheap and after throwing out the bad ones the amount I had left over, made it cost more than regularly priced vegetables per pound of food.
The expiration date is dated when it's still safe to eat (depending upon proper storage).
What happens if the food was foul is usually vomiting within a short time frame of consumption (usually within 1-3 hours).
Food will stay fresh inside a sealed can for many years, but as the food inside the can ages its nutritional value begins to decline. The food won't make you sick, but you won't be getting full value from it.
Sure, nothing happens.
Its "best before" not "certain death by"
Unless you notice some changes in smell or see mold growing on it, its still good.
Those expiry dates are sometimes arbitrary and designed to make you replace those items on a regular basis.
I do it old school and judge it by taste, texture and smell.
Nobody I feed has died from it yet. 🤞
It is no big deal. I have eaten food that was past the expiration date. Most of the time I could not tell the difference and sometimes it just was a little stale.
If the can doesn't have a dent or isn't blown out it's fine and you can eat it otherwise I'd toss it is no good
Expiry dates always have a big margin of error just to be safe. That cheese that's been maturing for a year isn't going to go off on the use by date.
I've eaten/drank food/drinks that were a day or two passed it's expiration date and nothing happened.
A few times. Usually it's still fine, unless it's dairy products
All the time. Expiry dates are just guidelines, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gone bad
Depends how far it’s expired. If just I have. But 6 months or more no.
I had KitKats once that were 7 years out of date, that was years ago and I'm still here
Yes twice.. Nothing happened lol
