Why do people like fast food so much?

Am I weird for not liking it? It tastes good, only when it's hot, but if you don't eat it within a few minutes after it's ready (about 10), and it gets cold, it tastes like plastic (unlike homemade food)
I don't know if anyone agrees with me, or thinks I'm being weird

You are not weird at all. I don't care of fast food either. Not at all. I'd much rather make my own food than stop somewhere for fast food. At the very least, I will go to an actual restaurant that I know makes fresh food when I want takeaway.

The other side of it is how unhealthy it all is. All those preservatives and other low quality ingredients don't entice me at all. I will say that if faced with fast food as my only option, I always get a salad.

Some salad options that they have are not all that bad. I still stay away from other menu items but in a pinch, that works.

The main thing I like about fast food is that it doesn’t have any tasting flaws like home cooked meals might be too oily, too greasy, too fat, too sweet, too bitter, too robust, too plain, too dull etc… I once had this really bad tasting food my parents made and luckily I made it taste better by using garlic and black pepper.

I agree 100% with your statement that once fast food gets cold it tastes awful. This was a big issue for me during COVID when seating areas were closed. I will not eat in my car, and by the time I got the burger home (a 10-minute drive) it was awful.

This got me out of the fast food habit. The new pricing structure where everything now costs twice as much, ended the habit. I actually feel healthier because of it.

I totally agree with you, 90% of the time when you open the bag it's already cool enough that I'm not interested in it

If hot food tastes good after cooling, its because it's pumped full of garbage to preserve it, healthy food rots fast after preparing it.

You you have to eat it right at the restaurant it’s tasty food it’s convenient for you, you don’t have to cook and wash dishes

Fast Food is not good for no one. I don't eat much fast food

It has a lot of fat in it. Evolution has programmed us to like it.
