If you're a sandwich slicer, which way do you slice it?
Do you slice your sandwiches or eat them whole?
If you're a sandwich slicer, which way do you slice it?
It just depends on the contents of the sandwich.
Most times I don't slice it, as I feel a whole slice keeps the integrity of contents of the sandwich together better, but sometimes with a sloppy sandwich it's the opposite and slicing it can actually hold the contents together better. Like with an egg salad sandwich. It has a squishy filling and if you don't slice it, with every bite it tends to push a little more of the filling downward and/or outward toward the edges, so by the time you're halfway through the sandwich it's all coming out the sides. But if you slice it in half the filling doesn't squish out as much because it requires fewer bites per piece that squish the filling outward.
However, with most other sandwiches I don't bother slicing it. I just feel it it holds the contents together much better, but again, each sandwich is different.
i never make my sandwiches, now that I think about it. But they are almost always served to me sliced. I'll eat them whole if that's how they are served, though, so if I made my own sandwich I probably wouldn't think to slice it, and so wouldn't slice it.
Depends on the sandwich. Usually corner to corner. If it’s grilled cheese it always has to be cut in the shape of a sailboat. I don’t care if I’m old and grey in a retirement home my grilled cheese had best be cut in a sailboat with a river of ketchup.
Preferably folded rather than sliced. But i also hardly use white bread. I prefer brioche buns

I don’t usually slice sandwiches for myself. I’ve made a few hoagies in my time and normally slice them in half. I’ve always sliced sandwiches for kids, so it’s a little less messy for them to eat. In which case, corner to corner in quarters seems to be best.
I like my sandwiches about 2 inches thick :D
I prefer large loaves of sandwich bread with a double slicing:
The first cuts make the slices (hence the name), and each slice is then cut diagonally; so when I eat them I can hold it like a pocket - there's significantly less of a mess around me.
Whatever makes them most convenient. If it has dried meat like salami which my teeth won't necessarily cut I'm more likely to slice.
Interestingly there was a study where the results slicing sandwiches diagonally made them taste better than squares.
I always slice unless it's a really small sandwich. I usually slice diagonally, it just looks prettier. But if that messes with the contents, I'll cut to accommodate.
Small burgers, no. Big fancy burgers, yes. And if you're one of those hotdogs are sandwiches people, then no, I don't cut those.
I always cut a sandwich (as in the two slices of bread ones).
it seems barbaric to eat a sandwich whole, also how does everything stay inside it.
for myself at home, it’s just across, for guests etc it’s angled.
Oh and cucumber sandwiches are always a triangle, it’s sacrilege to do them horizontal
About the only time I slice a sandwich is when I'm having BLTs and then I cut them at a diagonal, once you put bacon lettuce tomato and miracle whip on bread it gets a little slippery so it's much more controllable in a wedge shape
I love to put it whole in my mouth
Jk im not a pennywise
I usually only use one slice of bread that I cut in half and make a sandwich with those slices. After that, I don’t slice it any further.
I eat them whole but as a kid I used to slice them in half down the middle
Isabel just like you I don't slice my sandwiches in any way. It just doesn't seem necessary.
😀😎🙋♂️😊
You have never sliced a sandwich in your life? Girl, come on now.
I slice them since half the time I get full midway.
I don't slice my bread. I make my sandwiches with two whole loaves of bread.
No I take half a baguette teat out the kiddie and stuff it with vegetables tofu etc DONE ☑️
Why would any waste time doing that lmao. That's so inefficient.
Ok. I’ll admit it. I’m guilty. I’m a sandwich slicer. 🥺. Lol. I like my sandwiches cut diagonal. Like a triangle. Same with toast.
I actually do like to slice sandwiches; because it's a mind trick that makes you think you are eating more food than you actually are.
Nah that's just an unnecessary step that adds precious seconds on the sandwich journey. Any large sub needs to be cut though.
Well..., I never used to think about it or worry about it, but Cancer took my teeth. So until I am finished getting my implants. I'd have to say I do now. And it may be my inner child, but it has to be diagnal.
It is a pet peeve that when you buy a sandwich that they automatically slice despite me say don't slice it.
The fillings fall out - stupid to do.
I slice my 12-inch Hoagie into 3 and eat it that way but other sandwiches I eat that whole
I never cut my sandwiches. I always eat them whole. It's a waste of time to cut them.
For the most part I slice my sandwiches in half.
Depends on the sandwich. Some of the ones I make are impossible to slice. LOL
Yep. It also depends on the type of bread too.
only if it’s a hoagie, i agree that if people slice a regular sandwich in half it’s like why? 😂
i do not eat them whole, i take a bite at a time
I eat them whole. Don't dirty anymore dishes than I have to.
I dont always slice but when i do i do it correctly.
Triangles taste better

@Jamie05rhs it's a fact
I know!! Haha 😅
