Which do you prefer: cutting your sandwich diagonally or down the middle?

On today's episode of which do you prefer, we're talkin sandwiches.

So personally if I'm cutting a sandwich, I'm cutting it diagonally. No specific reason why other than it looks better lol. I only ever really cut my grilled cheese sandwiches tho. And sandwiches I make for littles. I will say that it seems a bit easier for them to hold and keep the contents in a sandwich cut diagonally.

As a former chef, I cut diagonally, but not just for no reason. When you cut it diagonally, and then take the inside edges and rotate them outward, you increase the visual appeal of the sandwich, by increasing the total exposure of the maximum length of inner ingredients (where they are thickest).

Since diagonally is the longest cut, you are also making the whole thing appear bigger, and therefore more satisfying to your end user.

I have no preference for this… it probably depends on the type of sand which. Grilled cheese is diagonal. Tuna or deli meat is typically just a vertical cut.
Honestly, I have some things I’ve overthought in my life but I haven’t given much thought to this.

Either one is fine with me, but I always did it option A. The triangles just "taste" better than the rectangles. Even distribution of meat and cheese, and all.

Let's say I have 4 round cucumbers placed 2 on each side, or something else that doesn't cut easily across grain - in that case, I go down the middle. Otherwise, I'm about 50/50.
