Don't get fooled by the hype. When farmers ended up with deformed carrots, they ended up being wasted, till someone came up with the idea of carving them down into a smaller size and calling them baby carrots. They aren't babies, and they're washed in a dilute chlorine bleach solution to reduce spoilage. Here's how they are made:

I like carrots. Baby carrots is a bit of a misnomer though. They’re really just peeled cuts of fully ripened carrots. Makes for good finger food, but i like whole carrots. See, i grew up with Bugs Bunny. I luv’d how he’d take a bite out of a carrot, partially chew it and without swallowing say, “Eeeeeeehhhh….. what’s up, doc?”
Hahaha! Tickles me to this day! As a kid, i emulated Bugs, among others. The preference for whole carrots stuck. Ell oh ell!

I really enjoy a RAW vegetables. I think it benefits your gut health. If I'm going to be ingesting a bunch of sweets, I definitely make sure I have some raw veggies and fruit beforehand :-)
