So, you're able to compare because you eat feet? Nice!! I didn't know that about you, darlin'. LOL I've never sucked any toes that tasted like sopressata, but I'll let you know if I find any!
Good sopressata is a very rich, fat laden salami that's generally mildly spiced. Although it's considered a dry salami, it's got a softer texture than hard or genoa salami due to the high fat content. As humanearth said, unless you get the good stuff imported from Italy, it's going to taste like who knows what? If you buy Boars Head crap, it's going to taste like processed cardboard. Really good sopressata can run cost between $16 and $20 a pound in the US. In Italy, it's about 10 Euro for a kilo of the good stuff, and you don't need much because it's sooooo rich!
Get a little of the really good stuff and try again!
