Trending & News It depends on the price. $20 a person is a great deal for these places! $25 is so-so/medium. $30 is a little high but do-able. Anything over $30 is way too high, though! But yes, as long as you aren't expecting 10 out of 10 cuisine, you generally get your money's worth for only $25 or less a person.
I enjoy these restaurants a lot! But I rarely got to go to places like Golden Corral and Old Country Buffet. Although the food is mediocre at best, most people aren't here for "fine cuisine." I usually like them cause of the variety and I get to try so many new foods for relatively cheap.

South Korea only has a few of them, like Ashley Queens (an American buffet restaurant that Koreans love) and they're about $26 a person for all-you-can-eat.

And another Korean place is called Gourmet Square. My job treated us to dinner there about two months ago, and since I had weight loss surgery, I could only eat very little. They had some bomb-ass sushi, though!

I'm also going to point out how AMAZING these places are and how grateful I am to live in a country where you can eat unlimited food for a flat price. I mean, 150 years ago, this would literally be something only a King could do! "All you can eat food!" Whatever you want to chow down on! Free refills for drinks! I mean, think about how amazing that is and how we can live in countries that supply us with such a thing! I was thinking this when my job treated us to Gourmet Square a few months ago. Buffet restaurants truly are a First World experience and I feel grateful while there.
Oh, and I voted option C. If I'm paying $20-$30 to go there, then I make sure I don't even eat 24 hours beforehand. Prior to weight-loss surgery, I COULD eat them out of business, if their food wasn't mediocre at best. I'd usually stop eating cause I was grossed out, not because I'd be full.
I voted 'B'. I get my money's worth. LOL
I remember when smorgasbords became a big thing in the 1960s when I was a kid. It's the first time I ever tried a buffet.
When we go to Sizzler, I usually get the all you can eat salad bar that includes other things besides salad. There is dessert, too.
There was a chain that specialized in a giant, all you can eat, salad bar as well as all kinds of other things. I can't remember the name of the place, but we used to really enjoy it.
Before covid, there were some really good Chinese buffets that had all kinds of Chinese dishes, as well as seafood, Mongolian BBQ, sushi, and desserts.
Covid mandates really killed buffets. Many of them closed.
Lunch buffets at Indian restaurants are great, too.
I'd never get my money's worth with low appetite lol. I would rather be spending a lot of money on a small portion if I know I'll actually enjoy the food and finish everything vs spending little on a lot of food when I know part of it may go to waste. Even when I eat at restaurants I hardly finish what I order and am always asking to pack what I didn't finish so that I can eat it later in my own time.
There is a reason places like Golden Corral, and we have an Asian all you can eat near me with both doing very well. The reason they do so well is because the majority of patrons can't out eat what they paid.

See you January 2nd and we’ll need 3 hours at the Chinese buffet with both crab legs and separate grill top and sauces cooking thing.
Once we work through 20 items on buffet, we’ll spend an hour sucking down crab legs etc, jello, fruit. And of course top that off with a brownie covered in chocolate sauce with vanilla ice cream on top.
Next time bring your rib cage showing women out and pork her up on 2/10. And by 2/14 stuff full of chocolate 🍫 and wine in then she’ll have Phat Back too.
At least someone will hit their New Year resolution. And she’ll love you for giving up your New Year weight loss resolution just so you could test out that buffet and achieve New Year goal.
Invite me to the Baby Daddy party 🎉

Absolutely. I love all you can eat Chinese restaurants. Especially when I have been out all day and I know I don't want to have another meal after that until the next day. I know a few good all you can eat Chinese restaurants in London that are my go to.
They usually allow me to stay out all day until I tired enough to go to bed Especially during the summer.
I never go to Soho. I have heard of issues from lots of people.
There is one good one close to Tottenham Court Road but as you are coming from the British museum to wards Tottenham Court Road. There is another in Kilburn, and there is another one in camberwell at the corner of the roads going towards Peckham and the one going towards Denmark hill.
First, I CHOSE to patronize this eatery... why go there if I didn't LIKE their offering?
Second, its 'all you CARE to eat' ... NOT.'all you HAVE TO eat'. If your appetite TELLS you you're full and had 'enough'... knowing You CHOSE to eat there, YOU GOT YOUR MONEY'S WORTH. To 'stuff' yourself is both immature and STUPID.~
The only one I liked was Souplantation and they were bankrupted by the pandemic. But there, yes I definitely got my money's worth. Just the food I ate would have cost me more in a store, and I did not have to prepare it or clean the kitchen and dishes after.
Nobody really gets their money’s worth when all costs are considered. “All you can eat” joints are a commercial result of widespread gluttony. For which we will all pay into the healthcare system in the future. Ell oh ell!
The key is the order the food is laid out. The most expensive - usually protein - is always last so your plate is full by the time you get there
So I go to the meat and load up then go back for the carbs last.
I don't usually, cause they charge for things like steak and sushi and all I have is a salad.
Seems like a high cost for a make it yourself salad bar.
I'll add there is some Brazilian BBQ places in the bigger cities here, all you can eat salad bars and meat, etc... but like 30 dollars a person, but they DO have the option for salad bar only at quite a bit cheaper than the full buffet but still way over priced.
@Aerissa_Jade There is a Brazilian restaurant near me that just opened. I need to get over there.
@ArrowheadSW Oh nice, what's it called?
Hummm... I don't recall although I think it is its own thing and not a national chain. I want to see how Brazilian food is unique in its own way.
We have a fantastic buffet where I live. Great salad bar, The food is amazing. Even includes a dessert bar
If you want to pig out then yes, you get your money's worth. Generally speaking the food is not too great but you get what you pay for.
In all fairness though , there is one local buffet here in town that I visit once a year on my birthday (although I don't stuff my self either). The food is actually pretty good - but this may be the one exception that have been to.
I worked for a time as a volunteer for a Conservation Charity in the UK, and we'd visit one of these places every so often, 15 burly ravenous volunteers of both sexes could put one these places into serious deficit with no problem at all, even when half of the number were vegetarians/vegans
Oh man. I go for any seafood or expensive food items that are not separately priced. And believe me, I will keep going until I am absolutely stuffed.
Us Asians will always do this at buffets.
Generally, yes, I think what I eat in restaurants is worth the money. Have to be taken into account all the costs to keep a restaurant and pay the working people a decent salary.
I try to reasonably get my money’s worth. I know a guy that went to an AYCE salad bar and took the salad bowl. The manager asked what he was doing. He said this is all you can eat, right? Well this is all I can eat.
The manager gave him his money back and asked him to leave!
B, and I never eat all I can unless the food is worth it so I only go to good buffets more than once.
i drive past a lot of these places with a huge banner in front but I'm the type that reads the whole banner where One stated ALL YOU CAN EAT SURF AND TURF" $7.99 but there was a catch in the fine price that said $7.99 per pound
It is not hard to pay close to10 dollars at McDonalds for lunch. So why wouldn't I pay 20 dollars at an all you can eat and get steak and fish and roast beef and all the trimmings with a desert bar? It is not like I go there for every meal but when I do I eat very well...
No, but I don't get that in a normal restaurant either. But here I get a plate with the content distribution I want. But we really don't have any all you can eat buffe, You got pick your plate and pay for it.
I get plenty of food at the all-you-can-eat places.

It's nothing for me. I eat small portions but quite often
I usually eat a fair amount. I usually have more than one dessert. LOL...
On my own, nope. But with my girl and her smoking habit, we can crush it.
I haven't been to a buffet for quite a few years. I do like some of the vegetables they have and the desserts. But I've heard Golden Corral isn't as good anymore.
Well a girl I know takes takeaway containers. After topping up her plate she scrape it into the containers under the table. Pretty sure she gets her money's worth.
I don't usually like that kind of place... the times I've been invited to come over, I just eat as usual
@Msputiton I must say, it is not easy at all... lmfao
@Msputiton I see one person sweating... game over for me, lmao
@Msputiton technically though... all of our grills and BBQ's are more than anyone could eat, lol
@Msputiton you're always welcomed though!!
we're having one tomorrow
@Msputiton and we would prepare your favorites, as well
A, because I'm old. In my 20's, definitely D.
If the food is good I will make the extra effort to have an extra helping or three.
I don't eat much even at other restaurants, so there's no reason for me to go. My dad always eats too much and gets sick.
Do they even have those in the UK? to answer your question though it depends on the place. Like with most things you get what you pay for. Meaning if it's cheap, you're getting low quality..
I don’t eat a lot, one plate is usually enough for me, so I don’t waste my money on buffets.
I can't eat at those places. It reminds me of pigs at the trough.
For myself it works out about the same as buying a regular meal. The only difference is no left overs to take home.
If you’re a big eater, yes you do get your moneys worth, but the quality of food is not that great
Honestly in general it's not worth it but if you do intermittent fasting and you're having your one meal of the day, yes it can be a good deal. Lmao.
I always get my money's worth at those kinds of restaurants.
I hate the concept of buffet or all you can eat.
i won't go to one again. i stopped years ago. people are nasty.
Actually yes. I know which ones are the pricey ones and I try to minimize the carbs/starches in buffets.
I go round the opposite way and fill my plate with high protein dishes,,,
Yes , even though I am relatively short and skinny. Sometimes I tend to eat inhuman amounts of food 😅. People can't believe, I had win several bets so far.
I usually end up vomiting because I eat myself sick at those places
The problem is the food is usually pretty bad
The trick is finding the right restaurant.
Ew. I pass, completely.
I don't like the vibe
No I actually eat less
Keep eat until they kick you out
They always win. Trust me
Voted B😆
