Why do Americans eat like this?

I've been in USA for 25+ years already and it grossed me out the first time I sat in a cafeteria and the first time I saw kids drinking Pepsi and eating microwaveable frozen meals instead of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats and fish!! My mom used to make me fresh broccoli sandwich on home made bread for lunch that’s broccoli with lime juice (all fresh) on home made bread. The kids laughed at me while they were eating pbj crustables and frozen pizza… Fa cagare!!! 25 almost 30 years later I’m still grossed out by kids eating captain crunches and drinking Pepsi. Why do you guys eat this way. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy here and love it here but 🤮. Sei Pazzo, che schifo!

You asking us this is like me asking why a country that used to rule the known world's GDP is half that of the United States. You said you like it here? Well, that's a big reason why. Capitalism reigns Supreme here. And if Corporations dictate we eat garbage because it's cheaper for thier bottom line, that's what's going to happen. They've bought all the politicians already so there is no opposition. And as long as we have cheap labor from other countries (Mexico, India, China etc.) the avg. American can stuff himself silly in front of thier flat screen t. v. getting sicker and sicker until they have no strength and are too sick to fight back should a revolution ever be needed.😆😆😆

The American diet is bullshit.

I never liked or understood why so many fellow Americans like to eat junk. You look everywhere and you see nothing but carbohydrates, sugar, and saturated fats.

It’s the reason why many Americans are overweight. Then what bothers me even more is that issue is never an issue of concern. We especially saw this during the pandemic. Most of those who perished from covid neglected their health most of their lives. Yet the media and public health “experts” said we needed to isolate ourselves instead of saying the truth

My dad never bought crustables, he always made my PB&J sandwiches with full bread, PB&J on both sides. I'd sometimes pack myself a fruit and if I was still hungry, I'd get something else at school during lunch time. I'd always have a water on hand but would still get milk. To me eating PB&J crustables is like eating a donut to be honest.
