How to properly store homemade tomato sauce?

Shall I store it in the fridge out leave it outside in a sealed jar?

You have to make sure it's air tight and sterilized by boiling jars with content in it then air tight vacuum will occur otherwise you must freeze it or it will start to mold in a few days. Haven't you ever opened a leftover spaghetti sauce jar and found mold inside.

If it's been properly canned you can store it anywhere, I keep some in my pantty and along with the rest of my canning and veggies harvest on shelves in my cold cellar that's under my front veranda. You can keep an open jar in your fridge for a number of days.

If it contains garlic or onion is air tight and sterilized jar not an option. Freezing is always best option.
