French fries, who makes the best?

A local chili dog place thats only found throughout my state. But if we’re talking a common place then  McDonalds  as long as their fries are hot. Once cold its so disgusting.  Burger King  has the best burgers (along with Checkers) but worse fries. Their fries always taste like cold Mickey D’s.  Sonics  fries are the next best thing to McDonalds. I dont like  Checkers/Rallys  style fries.  Buffalo Wild Wings  fries are disgustingly small.  Canes/Zaxbys  fries are disgustingly wet because they close it up in a plate with freshly hot chicken.  Wendys  fries finally started tasting good when they introduced sea salt fries. But then they fcked up the fries and the BBQ sauce a few years back with some new recipe and theyre back to being nasty.  Chick Fil A’s  waffle fries are amazing but other than that that place is hella overrated. I can't remember how  Dairy Queens  fries taste. Hardees fries are nasty but their hashbrowns are amazing like McDonalds.  Chilis  fries seasoning is disgusting but decent when hot and unseasoned.  All of this is coming from a former fries lover. Now i only eat homemade fries cut straight from the potato.

Popeyes is known for their chicken but I really like their Cajun fries.

I find a lot of the local chip trucks have the best fries compared to the chains. Fresh cut with the skins, crispy brown on the outside and tender on the inside.

If you get fresh walleye or whitefish to make it fish and chips, it is soooo good!

Actually, McDonald’s french fries are pretty good if you eat them right there inside while hot. Burger King used to have fries like that many many years ago but they changed the style around. I also like curly fries from Miami wings, but they’re no longer in business.

I find any diner such as a small Döner/kebab place can do it better than McDonald's and Burger King. The stuff that these major fast food chains put into their products is what's damaging health more than the hot oil bathed potato sticks.

There is a local place that makes the best french fries. They are fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I sometimes order and extra portion of them.

Chain? Probably 5 guys. But there’s a Greek place by me that makes fresh fries like 5 guys and tosses them in cumin and garlic powder. They are the bomb.
