Cooking a brisket and cabbage in the slow cooker today. Have never done this before. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to cook it and taste good?

I usually use a pressure cooker but in a slow cooker I put the meat, cabbage and also carrots and cut up potatoes into the cooker and add water and a little apple cider vinegar. Set it to low and it will take 8 hours.

My daughter bakes it in the oven for (I think) about three hours at 250/275 F. I taste great nice and tender

I've never vookedca a brisket in a slow cooker. I always do a whole brisket and would never fit one in a slow cooker. Ibdo mine on m smoker low and slow with pecan wood chunks for about 12 to 14 hours or until the internal temp hits 194°F.

I like to cook it with large white onion cut into chunks that are easy to scoop out and a generous amount of pickling spice.

My step dad add pickle juice to the water to give it some flavor, but you do slow cook it for quite a while
