Of course not.
I’ve done martial arts for 8 years, so I understand what a weapon the human body can be. A properly executed punch can knock out teeth, break ribs, or fracture bones. It would be cruel to injure somebody that badly, and possibly send them to the hospital, over a slice of pizza.
Now, if we’re talking a light sparring match with proper gear, then sure that’s fine. But, it would take some time to set up.
If they want to decide on the fly, a quick coin-toss or game of rock-paper-scissors should suffice.
Or maybe even a game of cards.
If you HAVE to fight, wrestling or grappling (with safety rules and good sportsmanship) would be better, since there are less injuries as long as opponents are given enough time to tap out.
Can fighting ever be fun, when done as light sparring, if you aren’t going at full performance and full mental capacity?
Isn’t it like suppressing skill?
Like letting a 5 year old get some points over you?
Or
Is it like shooting within the 3pt line, in basketball? Still fun as long as there is a basket to shoot towards?
Light sparring or doing drills can be fun.
Fist-fighting though, like bare knuckle fist-fighting, that doesn’t come without injuries. There’s a reason by boxers are forced to wear gloves because it’s actually to protect the opponent more than to protect their hand. People can get hospitalized when being hit bare knuckle by a professional boxer.
As for light sparring, with no gear, you’d need to avoid punches to the face and head, because even a light tap to the lip with bare knuckles could make someone bleed.
As for letting a 5 year old score points, I’d see that as more like play-fighting more than “fist-fighting”.
But, I’d probably use an open palm rather than a closed fist with a 5 year old.
So that can be done, but it wouldn’t be “fist-fighting” anymore.
If you don’t have protective gear with you, you can safely do light sparring (minus face shots), or you can include face shots if you are doing non-contact sparring (stoping about 1-3 inches before impact).
But yeah, it can be fun, but safety measures need to be taken. Just like it would be dangerous to wrestle in a concrete parking lot. (One should use grass or a proper gym mat instead.)
When people are sparing they should be careful with strikes to the head if they don’t have protective gear readily available. And even with strikes to the body, you can get bruises even without going full force, when you’re not using protective gear.
Just my two cents. 🙂
I would most like say, “omg look he is carrying a whole piping hot meat pizza, damn that so good.” As he looks I take the last slice and run eating it while I ran.
Only if it's just play fighting, otherwise no. But we all know that we let the kid win the slice.
Only if I was literally starving to death and it was my only food I had access to.

Yeah. Fuck them kids
my younger brother and I would bet... or compete on the last slice pizza when we were kids, never fought for it
There’s no reason to fight a kid unless you’re having to defend yourself in self-defense, and he’s punching you in the face or hitting me with something dangerous some kids are tall well over 200 pounds and strong
I'd outsmart him, I'd tell him I'd buy him two slices
Nope. I’ll just order another pizza if I’m that hungry
No I’ll just eat it first unless it has pineapple on it or something
How extremely childish.
Fuck no, this is why I carry a gun.
I sincerely hope not
Naww
No, that is stupid.
