Ketchup is applicable to a wider variety of foods but taste wise I think mustard is more satisfying, but I never use mustard without ketchup cause mustard is like the icing and ketchup is liked the cake beneath the mustard. The only time I used mustard by itself is when it was mixed with honey, when I was using it on a chicken nugget, or when I was dipping plain pita triangles to make them taste better on a day when my dad decided to do a basic dinner instead of the three food groups we usually have in our foods.

Ohgosh... that is a crazy ask. I mean, hotdogs/fries=ketchup all day. Brats get mustard (altho I prefer the spicy brown mustard).
I ask bottom line if it's just one and the choice is ketchup or yellow mustard, it's gotta be ketchup.

Hot dog? Both.

French fries? Ketchup.

Ham sandwich? Mustard.

Gassing the enemy? Mustard.

My neighbors Tesla seats? Ketchup.
