Thank you so much darling for reminding me that I must shortly visit our farm shop and butchers to see if they've managed to source any grouse this year.
Since the pandemic I don't seem to remember them having any wild game at all, even venison has been extremely scarce!
I have always wanted to eat Black Hen, and we did date for a couple of years! Ahh, wait, I don't think that is what you meant? I'm sure some on here have eaten Black Cock?
Today, the 12th of August, is the start of Beaver shooting in California, (at the beach that is) But remember, all you shoot, ya gotta eat!

If truth be told I never had grouse however I always like to try new things so sign me up, what time is dinner?
Yes, but farmed ones. Most wild birds are protected here, that's why most hunters don't even own guns for 12G birdshot.

The only grouse you gonna see here is people shooting at the sky and hoping it doesn't hit anyone on the way down
I've had dove, quail and pheasant, but never grouse.
I had grouse during one of my visits to the UK. Tastes like chicken is what I recall.
