I haven't eaten a pizza in a while (but will go to Domino's tonight). I live in Saint Louis and Saint Louis-style pizza is NOT pizza.

For me, if it's just me and not also my wife, I make pizza a vegetarian meal for Meatless Monday. So, when I worked in Connecticut, my standard pizza, usually purchased on a Monday after work, had roasted red peppers and onions.

On Monday night, 08 JUL 2019, to show the people in Saint Louis what a real pizza looks like, I took a picture of an 18-inch with roasted red peppers and onions from Michael John's in Bloomington Connecticut. I added oregano. The pizza tasted better than it looked and it looks good.
People in Saint Louis. This is what pizza is supposed to look like. For the record: 18“ large ($14) + white onions ($2.75) + roasted red peppers ($3.75) + 6.35% sales tax = $21.80.

However, if I am in Connecticut and have to have a New Haven-style pizza (aka a "tomato pie"), mozzarella is a topping, so that would be a topping that I would get. Here's a Frank Pepe's New Haven-style pizza that I got in 2015 at Mohegan Sun Casino. I added the mozz as a topping. New Haven-style pizza is not real pizza.

last Friday had what my pizza shop calls grandmas. it's it's got pesto, garlic, and marinara... i added mushrooms. typically i'll just do pepperoni though
