While pumpkin spice is typically cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves
Now I'm not sure date the switch over point is but I'm sure you'll tell me. But which mix is your favourite?
I actually censor spices from my Christmas olfactory experience.
You see, the spices you mentioned have their origins in specific cultures, such as anise from the Mediterranean, ginger from Asia, and cloves from Indonesia.
By disregarding or oversimplifying the origins and cultural contexts of these spices, we risk neglecting the contributions and histories of the communities that cultivated and cherished them.
This can inadvertently perpetuate a narrative that appropriates or dilutes the cultural significance of these ingredients.
Also, when discussions around spices exclude the contributions of certain cultures or cuisines, it can reinforce a sense of exclusion or marginalization.
So, for me it's unscented Lysol because it creates a safe, sanitary, and heterogeneous environment.
that is so indirect. you generate more artificial sins than jewish rabbis. lol and you don't enjoy spices.
@strateguy632 check your facts. no one ever colonized another country so they could steal their unscented Lysol.
Not sure. I don't think I've heard of Christmas spice before.
Lately I’ve been wanting to go to Christmas fairs once they start up, I don’t totally know why, nostalgia, I guess. But I never think of there being “Christmas spice”, but I guess something has to create that familiar holiday smell I know and love. Pumpkin spice is fine, but I feel like that blew up when I was an adult, or I at least wasn’t aware of it as a kid, so there’s no draw. Christmas spice gets the W.
Both pumpkin spice and Christmas spice blends are popular during their respective seasons. Pumpkin spice typically includes cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves, while Christmas spice blends can vary but often feature similar warm and aromatic spices like cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. It really depends on your personal preference and the time of year!

I'm not a huge fan of either one, but if forced to choose it would be pumpkin spice. I don't do the "pumpkin spice everything" that is common this time of year. A couple of pieces of pumpkin pie over the holidays and I've fulfilled my pumpkin desires for another year.
