Do you wash fruit before you eat it?

Most of us probably wash wild picked fruit but what about shop bought, especially if it comes wrapped in a plastic bag? Do you wash fruit?

Absolutely, if I plan to eat the skin, or eat things like grapes or berries.

My wife and I have some fruit trees. I try to get other fruit we eat from local farmers who don't use agricultural poisons.

We make sure that we never buy anything that is coated with Apeel. That shit can't even be washed off.

Probably it should be the reverse as wild won't have spray residues. Fruit is washed to remove pesticides by the processors and apples are waxed to make them glossy.

There isn't a lot of point especially with bananas

I wash fruit if I'm going to eat the whole thing, or at least the outside.
I wouldn't wash a banana though as the skin isn't for eating anyway, and the inside is fine. And it would be a cold day in hell before I'd buy a product for washing bananas.

Of course. I let my berries stand in some water with vinegar. It cleans them out. Apples, pears, peaches, all get rinsed with cold water.

A lot of people don't even know there is a layer of wax on the apples. I scrape it with a knife until I get most of that white wax stuff off and then have to wash it just like I would wash a cup in hot water.
