Inspired by my wife bringing home Little Ceasars last night from a school function, which has to be the worst pizza from any chain in my opinion.

Ok, so I guess this would all be contingent upon where you live and your available options. I, personally, cannot do chain store pizza. Maybe Domino’s after the bars back in college when everything else was closed for delivery by the time you got home. Domino’s had our back til 4 AM, so TYFYS🫡 But it’s not quality pizza.

Papa John’s might be the worst chain pizza I’ve had. They had one my freshman year at college. I liked the little peperoncino that came with it, but if you’re sending any kind of dipping sauce with a pizza, you’re IMMEDIATELY suspect. “Papa John’s…. because you just don’t know any better.”🤦‍♂️😂 I know when I think Louisville, Kentucky, the first thing that comes to my mind is pizza, obviously, lmfao.

Alright, so…. the places I rock with are mostly in NYC, Boston, or New Haven, Connecticut.

Not exactly the cuttiest place in the world, something of a tourist trap, but worth the wait in line, Prince Street Pizza in SoHo. Gotta get the thick Sicilian squares from here, top-shelf stuff.

New Haven, Connecticut is home to Frank Pepe’s (honorable mention Sally’s Apizza and Modern Apizza). These guys are starting to expand, not sure how the quality measures up to the original Wooster Street location, but I’ve been to the OG many times, and it’s always awesome.

And in dear old Boston, we aren’t quite on the same level as NYC or New Haven (especially South Shore “bar” pizza🤮), but we have a few spots who do it right. The best, in my opinion, is Santarpio’s. The building isn’t much to look at (or East Boston in general, lmao….”hey, anyone want to live right next to the airport? Hello? Hello? Is this thing on?”😂), but the pizza is RIDICULOUS. Also coal-fired, and you gotta go sausage, garlic, and Italian cheese, one of the house specials…I’m out of room for pics, so I’ll let Action Bronson take it from here…

Great review here! Never been to NYC or Boston, furthest east I go to is Pennsylvania. Also never had a coal fired pizza either.

The closest we had to different was when I lived in San Antonio and we had a place called Big Lou's pizza. Those were massive slices, as big as your arm.

Only Texas pizza I’ve had was on Sixth Street in Austin. Can’t remember the name of the place, just some spot peddling slices to drunk people. It wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating, haha.

There’s a place in Midtown Manhattan a few blocks from Grand Central Station (ultimate tourist trap), I think it’s called “Little Italy Pizza.” Just a by-the-slice place, I think I remember them being pretty big. Pretty solid pizza despite probably not cracking the Top 25 in the city. NYC pizza is just that legit, even the bad places are good, haha.

If you find yourself in NYC one day and only have time for one stop, I’d go Prince Street. SoHo and NoLita are really cool neighborhoods, so it’s fun to get a slice and then just walk around and take it all in👍

My family wants me to go when we visit PA next month (it's only a few hours drive away from where we will be going) but I'm terrified of being lost in a bigger city.

Haha, it’s definitely big, but it’s really well laid out. It’s very much just a grid system of streets, especially Manhattan. A few north/south major avenues, then a bunch of numbered avenues going east/west. So you’d just get directions to a general area, “that’s at 42nd and Madison”, Madison being north/south, and 42nd being east/west. Additionally, it’ll be East or West 42nd Street. The southern Manhattan neighborhoods are slightly more confusing, but most places tourists would go, especially Midtown, it’s tough to get too lost. It can be overwhelming, the sheer size of it and the amount humanity going on around you, but the streets have remained the same for longer than we’ve been around. Just get a sense of your north/south avenues (mostly famous names you’ve heard of, 5th Ave, Madison Ave, Park Ave, etc, then you can’t really go more than a block without noticing if the higher street numbers (also some famous ones, 34th Street, 42nd Street, etc) are ascending (northbound) or descending (southbound). If you can count, you’ll be ok, haha

I lived in San Antonio for nearly 40 years, and I still would get lost regularly. Thankfully, the city is just two big loops, so I could always find my way back to the highway and get home. I'm very directionally challenged.

We prefer a local pizza shop, but there's a Dominos just around the corner, which is super convenient. The local is 10 minute drive away, and the pizza is cold by the time you get it home. My SO hates that.

Little Caesars used to be a decent pizza for the money. It was actually my favorite as a kid. I have a few favorites, all single owner or family owned. Cascarelli’s of Homer, Michigan. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, grab a slice. You can thank me later! Ell oh ell!
Jackie’s originated the “garbage” pizza in Battle Creek. It’s pretty much just a pizza with a little bit of every topping they have. It’s gluttonous and wonderful! Steve’s picked up where Jackie’s left off!
I was delighted to find ONE great pizza place in California that reminded me of Jackie’s & Steve’s from home, Westside Pizza in Anderson. I ate there once every week after i discovered them! I had to start running again because of it! Ell oh ell!

Ledo Pizza is the absolute best. Then I would go with Little Caesars, what you are saying is awful lol. Domino's is shit, and Pizza Hut is okay. I don't often eat take out pizza from too many places, I'm very sensitive about pizza, it has to be made just right. And Ledo does a pretty good of job.

I'm not a trained pizza shopper, I go by standard and traditional so pizza hut is my go to pizza place. I think the main reason they have competition is they take more time to cook their pizzas than other places but I don't mind waiting for lunch cause if I wanted something that was normal tasting and not specially flavoured, I would eat at home.

Little Caesars, Pizza Hut and Dominos are all awful. I gave up on them many years ago. The only chain I'll ever order from is Papa John's. But when I want pizza I'll usually go to one of the local restaurants that are much better.

Why did you order through Doordash? You realize Papa John's delivers directly and it's MUCH cheaper than going through Door dash. Papa John's is no more expensive than Pizza Hut or Dominos and the pizza is much better quality. The only pizza that is cheaper is Little Caesars but as you know their pizza is garbage.
