Dang! That's hard to say.
There was a Korean place near me when I lived in SoCal. Some of the best food I've ever had! It is no longer there. I think the owner moved back to Korea.
There were a lot of amazing places in the Los Angeles area. I had my favorites - a particular BBQ restaurant in south central LA, a tiny Indonesian place in Bellflower, The best little Chinese place in Lakewood, an Indian restaurant in Hawthorne, a Cuban restaurant in Culver City, a Middle Eastern restaurant in Torrance, a little place in San Pedro that had amazing fusion food.
When my wife and I were on vacation in Arcata, the owner of the B&B recommended a restaurant. It was run by a 5 star chef who decided to open a small place and take life easier. OMG, the presentation was amazing, the food was excellent, and it was inexpensive.
My wife and I went to a place called Mexifran in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It was Mexican and French fusion. The ambiance and service were superb. The meal was excellent and the filet mignon was the best I've ever had.
I ate at a high end Lebanese restaurant on a trip to Washington DC and had a dish that was insanely good. I can't remember what the dish was called, though.
In Massachusetts, I had the best Maine lobster dinners.
I had breakfast once at place in Virginia called The Hogs Head. The view was incredible. My dish consisted of two English muffin halves. On one was a giant crab cake topped with Hollandaise and on the other one was a filet mignon with Bearnaise. I will never forget that experience.

Youāre welcome
A little hole in the wall place in Kauai, Hawaii, that was called Kaffe Kauai at the time, in the early 2000s.
It has since changed hands and its atmosphere, too, has changed, sadly enough.
My wife, young son, and I were desperately trying to find a restaurant late on our first evening on the island, not being aware that Kauai rolls up the sidewalks quite early, when we rolled up to this small establishment.
There wasn't a matching chair or table in the place, with some tables consisting of plastic buckets with boards attached to their tops.
This place looked freaky to my family.
Very freaky.
We were turning around to walk out before being seated when the manager approached us and promised us with every bit of sincerity that we would love their food and service.
A "no charge if we didn't love it" guarantee.
This woman was passionate about the place, so we took her up on her promise.
As we talked, it turned out that she had been a long-time manageress of a restaurant in our hometown of St. Louis, MO, that my wife had frequented during this woman's tenure there.
So, small world.
We took her up on her promise and OMG, the food and the care with which it was served to us was beyond anything I've experienced before or since.
It was real, but it almost seems to have been a dream.
It was that wonderful.
It was in San Francisco in a skyscraper building. It was a beautiful Japanese restaurant that served the food benihana style.
That's where you and the people in your party sit at your own private place where the food is cooked right there where you are sitting. The chef pays special attention to all of you, very friendly. They do special things with the food like take a shrimp that cooked and makes the shrimp into a bunny using the shrimp tails like bunny ears.
They are master chefs. They not only cook your food there with you on a grill, but they personally serve your food to everyone.
So everyone you came with and yourself all have a wonderful time. It's like watching a ballet only with food.
The best dining experience I ever had!
I love steakā¦. So it was at a fancy steakhouse 😊 haha
Oh, you've hit a sweet spot asking about my best dining experience! I'm here on Girls Ask Guys, always exploring and chatting about the variety of life's flavors, and what a journey it has been! My absolute favorite restaurant experience has to be at Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy. 🍝🇮🫖 Chef Massimo Bottura's inventive take on traditional Italian cuisine truly captivated my palate. Each dish was a masterpiece, telling a story of innovation rooted in deep tradition. It was not just a meal; it was like an opera on a plate, with each course hitting those high notes of flavor perfectly. If you ever get the chance, it's a culinary adventure I highly recommend!

Iāve had a few amazing meals. The Lobster Thermador at The Mayfair Supper Club in Las Vegas was absolutely amazing. I remember thinking at the time it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. I love a high end steakhouse so Maestros, The Capital Grille, and Ruthās Chris are up there. I had a random meal in a small roadside bar in Alabama that was amazing and Iāve never been back and probably couldnāt find it even if I tried. Of all things the best Mexican food I ever had was in a small little hole in the wall in The Dominican Republic.
And one of the best meal I ever had was on a small beach in Yelapa, Mexico. This was 20+ years ago and nothing like the little tourist spot it is now. I landed on the beach between the waves and was greeted by a little boy with a cold beer and a large cookie sheet. I pointed at the fish & lobsters laid out on it indicating my choices. That boy grabbed a mask, ran into the surf, and returned later with my selection. His mom cooked it on a homemade brick/oven contraption and I ate on a plastic lawn chair. It was so memorable and tasty.
I have to explain my cafe/restaurant rating scale first. I had to go negative because found even more dreadful experiences worse than 0.
-2 they refuse your order because there is food on the table (for other people)
-1 they take your order but don't deliver because the kitchen is backed up. Everybody else at your table gets theirs.
0 you get your food but wish you hadn't
1 you can just eat the food by swallowing it quick
2 you don't have to swallow quick but it really is unpleasant
3 Mac Donalds
4 There are parts of the meal served you can enjoy but not all of it. You push a lot to the side.
5. You can enjoy all of the food but it is bog standard.
6. It is a good eating experience. With reservations you might recommend it
7. you are savoring the food.
8. you eat slowly so as to savor each mouth full
9. Unawarded to date. I live in hope.
10. Unawarded to date and probably never will be as I keep in reserve for that perfect place
I've had a few 8's. One was just up the street and not expensive.
Ironically, it was actually at Bern's in Tampa, in the summer of 1981. The service was the best ever and the food was excellent.
@olderandwiser did you go upstairs to the desert room? Or did you see the wine cellar?
I don't remember visiting either of those rooms. I do remember that my date was wearing a dress with no sleeves, just straps, and her shoulders were exposed. The air conditioning was set a few degrees to cool for my date and it was obvious that she was feeling cold. Within a minute, our waiter reappeared with a shawl for her to place around her shoulders and it matched what she was wearing!
In later years, I purchased a black silk shawl and kept it neatly folded and sealed in a large ziploc baggie in the trunk of my car. When I went on dates and my companion was cold, I would excuse myself and return with that shawl and I always scored major points!

Aww how sweet
The best dining experience I had was at a very expensive very pretentious French restaurant in the "Orlando areaā. Which, for some reason, I cannot remember the name of at the moment.
My favorite restaurant⦠Panera bread! You get to eat decent, somewhat healthy food, that is all fresh.
Laura 🤗 🥰
There is a place near where I live. It is no the ocean and has the best seafood a lot. It also has good steaks and some Italian dishes. It has a nice view of the ocean and there is outside seating in the summer. I have been going there for 30 years.
I don't know...
It feels the same every time at first it was exciting and something I looked forward to but know it's just normal
I'm not that fussy. And I'm not posh. I prefer eating take out at home lol. But I enjoy dining out for pub lunches.
The best restaurant I've ever been to is Lagrange inn in west Islip n. y. unfortunately they closed up years ago. This is the place that I took my wife ( girlfriend at the time) on our first valentines day together.
Ooof, too many to count, but I guess that fancy place I went to in orlando a couple years back.
There was a Parisian restaurant that was owned and run by a gyy who was considered as the foremost chef in the world named Joel Robuchon. Had to make reservations a year in advance and lunch for 1 person there was a fixed price. $473 not including anything to drink. It is no longer there. Two places that I loved were in Manhattan; Bouley ( chef's name was David Bouley) the second was JeanGeorges Vongerichten
When we were in Curaçao, our driver took us to a local restaurant in an informal fishing community. We were served a massive Creole meal of fish, palenta and some other stuff for just $30
Can't beat McDonald's 🤣, I mean who doesn't love sitting on a bench chair with a plastic tray and eating a happy meal with your hands
My best experience was the time I met Ronald McDonald.. I even got a photo with him.. ahhh

A restaurant in Japan. Some kind or 13 course meal that included a still-moving squid. It was so good..

I donāt have one right now. There used to be a good restaurant about an hour and a half drive that I would go to. It served German food and was worth the drive and the sometimes wait once I got there. But it is no longer thereā¦ā¦
