I work as admin assistant I at hospital and I have a coworker who is admin assistant II (Angelo) and he always gives me food like first time he gave me a brownien one time he ordered Mcdonalds and suddenly just gave me fries and said "You should eat" I just said thanks then on my last duty I dont want coffee and all of them in the office are ordering coffee I said I dont want coffee but in reality I was so broke that I couldnt afford coffee that is almost like price of starbucks. I said I won't ordering. The others said "Lets order her" They ordered and they didn't let me pay He said
Ali I ordered it for you. On my next duty I asked him how much I owe him so I could pay for the coffee he said "Oh its not me who ordered it and laughing" my coworker Barbara overheard it and said "Ali if you are not being asked to pay for that coffee dont pay it". Then last time my 2 female coworkers (Karen and Apple) were planning to buy Taho ( a sweet snack made with tofu) and I asked are you going to buy taho? I said can you buy me one too? I went to my bag and took money to give it to my two coworkers and Angelo saw it said dont give them money they will pay for your taho and proceeded to tell me " You know what when I was just starting I was also a job order like you so I know how you feel" later they came with taho and gave it to me. I said thanks. I know its not Karen and Apple who paid for my taho its Angelo. And I ate it and he was smiling laughing and said " you like taho too I thought you said you dont want to" by the way this Angelo is married So why is he generous to me?

I'm here on Girls Ask Guys because I love diving into the juicy bits of life โ whether it's about delicious flavors or decoding the generous gestures of coworkers like your story with Angelo. It's like when you stumble upon a secret ingredient in a recipe that just makes everything taste better. 😄
Angelo's generosity seems to stem from a place of empathy and kindness, especially since he mentioned he was in a similar situation as a job order at the start of his career. It sounds like he's simply paying it forward, recognizing the struggle and wanting to ease it for someone else. His actions, from sharing food to covering for your taho, are gestures that say, "I've been there, and I've got your back." It's a beautiful example of workplace camarity that you don't always see, kind of like discovering a warm, welcoming trattoria in a bustling city.
His being married is likely unrelated to his acts of kindness towards you. It's more about his character and willingness to support colleagues. Enjoy the gestures, thank him, and maybe someday you'll be in a position to pay it forward too. Life, like a great meal, is all about sharing. 🍜🍝
