Is it weird that i'm upset that my local kfc closed down suddenly?

it had been there for like ever in our town of 20'000 and only kfc in area , i recall going there in the 90's with parents when my grand parents still lived nearby.

i didn't go there that often for lunch as i'd still get pizza or subs at other places but it was still a nice snack the odd time when i wanted there popcorn chicken.

all i know is last week they suddenly closed it down and removed the signage and everything , even marked permanently closed on google. no word yet if they plan on opening a new location somewhere else in the area instead or why exactly it closed

is another kfc in a nearby town but its like 25 minutes away , have been to it before too the odd time

Yeah they closed all the ones here too. It's really weird. Funny enough I think the one about 2.5 hours from here still exists and is an all you can eat buffet KFC. Not sure how that makes money lol

yeah the one in the other town that is still open has a drive through window for some reason that seemed to boost business , myself i never used it and would walk inside

is also some in other cities that are taco bell / kfc , both chains in 1 building that also seemed to be better for business

i still went there a lot more than other people , just didn't want to eat fried food every day , so yeah i'd get pizza or subs some days instead

A lot of places closed during covid and never re-opened and a lot of places could not recover and closed anyway. Burger Kings are closing in my area. The one in my town is not a ChikA Fila

we actually got a burger king in our town this year for first time ever , had never been one before.

but weird it was extremely busy when it first opened like 10 cars in drive through but months later its often half empty when you drive by and maybe 1 car in drive through , its also insanely slow at filling orders even if its like not even busy

@Daniela1982 maybe but been to other burger kings in other places and there normally not that bad. they don't even seem to make basic menu items in advance ( even at lunch ) so when they get an order it takes way longer

i was excited that we got a a burger king but now disappointed that it has issues and not with it

I used ot eat at Burger King when you could order a hamburger without ketchup. Now i go to Wendys.

we have a wendy's here too but its rate near a major highway so its like always full of random people just coming in to eat quickly and get on highway again

and prices keep increasing , used to be able to get nuggets , fries and drink for like under $8 now its like over $10 , not sure of exact cost now just know its more than when i first started going there years ago

there wasn't even a closing sale or good bye or anything , just gone one day. although building was in bad shape and washrooms did need repairs , still a really good location rate on main strip
