Is anyone WORRIED Many and/Or ALL Walmart may be Closing?

Nope, I’m not too worried about Wal-Mart. If I were you I’d focus my attention on the fact that 1) Russia was sanctioned by a large part of the world, thus is unable to deliver phosphate and potassium fertilizer to market just as spring crops are being sown. Russia is the second leading producer of potash and the fourth leading producer of phosphate… Without it on the market millions will starve… They have also been blocked from selling natural gas to certain markets which need it to make nitrogen fertilizer and diesel exhaust fluid which is needed to run tractors, dump trucks, and all sorts of other farm equipment. This means there will be a reduction in food production this year. 2) Bureaucracy in the deep state of the USA is also quietly shutting off fertilizer delivers in the USA… The quiet hand of government is ordering a reduction in deliveries via train, and companies like Union Pacific are cooperating. As a result 20% of farmers that were expecting fertilizer deliveries for planting will not receive them at all, and the other 80% will receive them late. These sorts of sanctions are being placed on 30 major fertilizer manufacturing companies here in America. This will lead to crop failure… I don’t need to mention that China has been buying up American grain reserves for the past 3 years do I? 3) The federal government is also additionally reducing the amount of land farmers can utilize via climate change legislation and additionally paying farmers to destroy fields and not produce crops… 4) The bogus PCR tests that were used for COVID are now being used for bird flu and poultry flocks are being exterminated at an alarming rate. In some states that have even made it illegal to purchase and own chickens without a license (e. g. North Carolina). 5) Food warehouses and processing plants are being set ablaze all across the country… It doesn’t matter if there are grocery stores when behind the scenes the food supply is being deliberately sabotages in an effort to starve people to death. You should be more worried about where you will find food come the end of the year. Hint: It won’t be in grocery stores… You better start growing it in large amounts. Grow calorie staples first. Then worry about nutrition second. Better get to work… Only several months left.
It's the first I heard of this. It's not looking so good from what I've seen. I'm seeing 11 of them are closing in your state so far.
As I hate Walmart, I think this is a good thing. They came in, sold stuff below cost until they ran the other businesses out, destroyed all the competition with unfair but legal business practices then raised prices and made a monopoly and keep raising their prices now that they have no competition. Around here many people have been willing to drive that extra 30 miles or so to get to a non Walmart business to shop, so no difference if they shut down.
Plus the ones around here have ZERO customer service, they are basically have no employees (or so it seems) as no one is ever around to get help and often times the only check out is self checkout with one employee watching it.
That is soo fun when you have two carts full of stuff.
I also kind of am a pain in the ass to them, cause if I don't find help I will just climb shelfs to get stuff up off high, which somehow is a great way to get those hidden employees to magically show up.
I really don't shop at them anymore though, so zero loss to me... they can go screw themselves as they are the all time winner of the worst customer service and business model award in the country.
I think Walmart is closing some stores because they over saturated the market. When you have 2-3 stores within 10-15 minutes of each other you have a problem.

I've never been to Walmart before and even back in the US, Philly only had like two Walmarts anyway and they were nowhere near me, one in South Philly and one in the greater Northeast, which is basically like 15 miles apart (I literally just checked now; they're actually 11 miles apart and on complete opposite sides of the city). So I couldn't care about Walmart.
I always thought K-Mart was cheaper, not that they're any better. (K-Mart is worse, from what I remember; and was never near me in Philly, either.) So I don't care! I'll miss Walmart about as much as I'll miss Jaime Kennedy and Chris Tucker from Hollywood movies. It's funny, cause South Korea have their own versions of a "KMart" and "Wa'Mart", along with the real "Walmart of Korea," EMart. (It's not as confusing as it sounds; trust me.)

The 2 they are closing in North Carolina Paris are Wadesboro and Lumberton

I read though, many of the other stores will stay open as they had a good fiscal year ending April 2022. Reasons for the closures include more people shopping online and the 25% surcharges from China on many items.
This might be of interest too. It explains in depth the reasons why other stores may close temporarily www.sbxl.com/.../
Not to worry...
As a company, Walmart is doing fine. They are doing massive remodeling of stores nationwide. Though they try to do the remodeling overnight and keep the stores open, some stores need to be shutdown to support the amount of remodeling needed. That's especially true for older stores.
Shitloads of people are avoiding them because of their work and hiring ethics and where they get their goods. The only thing that'd bug me about it is I usually get my crackers and toothpaste from there. The one near me used to be two other big stores so, I'm sure that some other store will take over and move in.
Nope. I hate walmart. Used to shop there until they falsely had a secret shopping following me because they thought I stole something and I didn't. So, fuck them. xD I'll buy my shit online or elsewhere.
I'm so glad kmart went under. I used to work there... I was still in training back when I was 18 and i got fired by our weird manager right before Christmas. Didn't have a car to drive home and had to wait outside in the snow next to the bell ringer. The manager told me not to tell anyone he fired me and years later I find out that he was having sex with all the male employees and firing all the female employees... wtf And i was naive to sign a form so I couldn't get unemployment either cuz it felt like he forced it on me.
In Germany they packed up and left years ago. We never wanted them here and they realized it rather sooner than later. Screw that monster of a company.
Walmart is the only store I refuse to shop at based on sanitary conditions, quality of product and parking lot sanitation. Target is always cleaner.
For sure! Thank you
With the amount of small local stores Walmart has killed, I don’t really have any sympathy for them. Not to mention how that company treats its employees.
no big deal. i never shop there anyway... but they do have this one wine that's very good! OAK LEAF red blend.
i'm not a big wino, but this is a very good wine
It'd be AMAZING if all Walmarts closed. Bring back true Mom & Pop stores, local retailers, and local shops.
I'm not worried, since I only go there as a last resort, and only for commodity housewares, and never for food. I can always go somewhere else.
If you ever went to the WM nearest our house, you would soon learn to hate shopping, or at least learn to shop elsewhere. A big contrast to the WM in Arkansas, right near the corporate HQ: you could eat off the floor in that place, well, just about. Very clean, neat, stocked shelves, neat inventory - - - - everything ours is NOT!
WalMart may close some stores but I would be absolutely astounded if they closed as many as 10% of their stores.
"Walmart U. S. had a total of 4,742 stores throughout the United States as of January 31, 2022."

I don’t think that’s going to happen, I haven’t seen any close here and this is where most stores close because of the high taxes makes it impossible to stay in business here but we are losing two Malls though
There are too many Walmarts that are open their probably just closing the ones that are not making enough money I think.
the one in my town has closed. I think Amazon is going to put all retail stores out of business sooner or later.
@exitseven I am Usually Happy with my stuff. But in Clothes, Yes, I would agree. xx
It's not my favorite store, but I do get concerned anytime there are big closures.
We just got a brand new superstore. It's packed all the time.
It’s a place to get some good deals it will be disappointing because I’m tired of the publix supermarket taking over Florida when they’re very expensive store and have a horrible deli
There is some speculation that FEMA and Walmart have a stronger relationship than is public knowledge. There is also the simple economics of a large company pulling the plug on underperforming locations. The massive amounts of riot damage and theft in recent years are likely contributing factors.
In my entire life I don't think I've ever been in one of those shops. Isn't Walmart where so-called Karens congregate? Isn't it like a hunting-ground for them?
We only have one in my town and it won't close since it doesn't have any competition.
i also live in NC and i haven't seen any walmarts close I've jus seen more being built
honestly id be glad tho if they did close so smaller store would have a chance cuz they have killed many of the small towns businesses leaving the town centers dead and empty leaving only the bigger citys in NC with really anything downtown
i am quite surprised about it since Walmart is cheaper than most other stores.
the ones where i live in NJ are packed all the time with people too.
i would hate to see it close i really would. but maybe the pandemic has affected a lot of people and how they shop.
Walmart on the way out. The Amazons of the world will close them
Well Paris for me it's not a big deal since there's no Walmart where I live. It's the first time I'm hearing about this and it's a little bit shocking.
I could care less about Walmart. Walmart was a fun place to go with family as a kid, but as an adult I understand how bad Walmart is and how they destroy local economy's.
No with Internet shopping it was always going to happen
Hey, I'm in NC... Hope Walmart gets the death they deserve but I'll believe it when I see it.
Horrible store filled with over-priced junk that I don't need.
Inflation streamlined is NOT closing. Smaller areas will suffer. Larger communities (350,,000) will lose 1 here and there.
Walmart is for low class losers.
Well my username is definitely fitting for me. I'm hot and I'm a total slut and a dominatrix and I always dress all in very bright pink In fact every thing I wear and own is very bright pink. The only thing I love not pink is my men who I love very dark black and I'm married to and have kids with a very dark sexy black man.
by the way I'm very white and have extremely long extremely light blonde almost white very shiny hair longer than I am tall and the lightest brightest bluest eyes, and I'm 4'11" and gave a perfect body and natural large tits.
No cuz im not from there
There's one here about 5 miles from me, that's closing claiming they're "not profiting enough". They're a multi billion dollar company. How is that not profiting enough
I had no idea they were closing some Walmarts
Its all part of the plain right before the big round up
I’ve heard nothing about that Paris.
Online, @Wise4myage xx
Thanks.
Just two stores Paris, one in Ohio and another one in Kentucky.
Thank god. Walmart did more harm than good to retailers.
NOOOOOOO well at least we still have target though
Probably upgrading. That pic looks from the 90's!
Why is that likely to happen
OK I haven't heard that over in the UK
I've never been to a Walmart so...
not at all
in my area/state it isn't going anywhere
This is news to me.
Never heard a thing about this
SAVE THE WALMARTIANS!!!
I make enough to not shop there.
who cares?
