We didn't get much candy growing up so we were allowed the candy haul.

For trick or treating we were only allowed to go around the neighbours we knew. You are talking like 100 houses, if someone was giving out razor candy or drugged candy they'd have been quickly found and frankly they'd have been burned out of their home. That happened to a group of KFC workers where I'm from, they thought it would be funny to ejaculate in the mayo and serve it to customers, a bunch of people got STDs on their mouth including an 8 year old girl. Recently a pedophile moved into a flat in the estate and police had to escort him out as a mob had surrounded his place looking for blood.

My parents used to check it when I was a kid.. We used to go everywhere and trick or treat until like 11pm we would get like 2 or 3 pillowcases full each.. I stopped when I was 16 was the last time I went out because everyone was saying aren't you guys too old and not wanting to give us candy so then after that I egged houses on devils night and TPed two people I didn't likes houses 2 years in a row lol. Then I just started buying myself candy and staying in watching horror movies since then.

We did all kinds of pranks. One Halloween a friend from across town came trick or treating with me. We were up the street walking up to a house. The owner was sitting at the back door and as we approached the house some older kids out in the street threw an egg at the back door. The guy jumped out of his chair and though we threw the egg. We started running with this guy chasing after us. I could hear him breathing he was so close. We ran into my backyard where there was a 4 foot retaining wall. We knew the wall was there but the guy did not. He ran right off the wall and I heard him hit the ground with a loud thud. The trick was on him

They didn’t take the loot though would ask if they could have a piece in the days following. On one of my best nights I got something like 64 pieces of candy.

I've never been trick or treating door-to-door. Our local mall had an event on Halloween nights where kids could come in and go to each store to ask for candy. That's where I was taken. This was a lot safer and more regulated than going to random people's houses.
