Do you like rice pudding?

Question

Rice puddings have been eaten in Britain since Tudor times and the first written recipe is by Gervase Markham in 1615. Although it can be made from scratch most peoples experience of it here is the stuff that comes in tins they were served as children.

Recipes for rice puddings can be found in every corner of the world but I've yet to hear of anyone over 12 and under 80 actually eating one. So do you like it

I prefer home made rice pudding, but tinned will do in a pinch.

This is the best Recipe I've even used:

Pudding rice
Ingredients
Pudding rice measured to the 175ml level in a glass measuring jug

410g evaporated milk

850ml whole milk

40g golden granulated sugar

1 whole nutmeg

25g butter

Method
This is simplicity itself, place the rice and sugar in the oven-proof dish, pour in the milk and the evaporated milk and give it all a good stir.

Grate the whole nutmeg all over the surface (it may seem a lot but it needs it), then, finally, dot the butter on top in little flecks. Next just carefully pop the dish in the oven on the centre shelf for 2¼ hours. After the pudding has had 45 minutes slide the shelf out and give everything a good stir.

At the end of this time the rice grains will have become swollen, with pools of creamy liquid all around them, and, of course, all that lovely skin!

Pre-heat the oven to 150°C, gas mark 2 For fan assisted ovens, if you are not able to switch off the fan function, we suggest you reduce the temperature by 20 degrees centigrade

@purplepoppy  I quite often sneak having a bowl of delicious Ambrosia Cream Rice... I absolutely love it either hot or cold. I'm also know that my husband does too, when a can has gone missing! lol

In my country is rice pudding rather known as milk rice. Milk rice with butter, honey, raisins is served with sweet cream, applesauce and cinnamon. It's the only dish I cook sometimes with rice

Rice pudding is not a thing in the US. I've had rice pudding a few times at restaurants in England... it's okay, not on my favorite food list.

I don't like it, but my wife does. Made from scratch.

It was a meal my father and sisters made for my mother when she came home from hospital when I was born. They used far too much rice "that can't be enough...".

Yeah I still like rice pudding don't get that many chances to eat it but I like it I don't think about it much when I'm out I never tried homemade rice pudding of course I can always make it once upon a time I was very interested in making homemade rice pudding but just somehow never made it there then somehow over time just never gave him much thoughts but I do like it I never heard of the breakfast pudding 🍮 what's that

I LOVE RICE PUDDING!!! My mum used to make it in the slow Coker and it get all crispy at the sides which was the best. You gotta have it with some raspberry jam too
