What do you call the stuff in this glass?

Question

We often call things differently, based in where we live. In fact, some people can figure out where you live based on what you call certain things. We're not doing that here, but it might be interesting to find out what our various GaG users call the stuff that's in the picture. How would you fill in the blank? The picture shows a glass of _________. Please vote in the poll.

Pop is the generic name for fizzy soft drinks here. But it's also slang for alcohol too. The only time you'll hear "soda" is when people are referring to "American cream soda". That dark liquid could be "coke" but just as likely dandelion and burdock so without knowing I'd just call it pop to be safe.

We usually say pop & soda. I know in some places they call every soda no matter what it is coke.

Liquid Diabetes? As for the beverage in the glass I call it soda & whoever filled it up with ice can go pound sand because that is like drinking a diet soda.

The common part of the names Pepsi cola and coca cola is... cola that is the category and name as always called by the industry.

Soda can refer to any fizz, even fizz water. Soft drink can include orange soda... that is soda not cola.

Soda. Growing up, we’d sometimes call it tonic, too. But that fell off somewhere along the way and it just became soda.

I remember I had a girlfriend in 6th grade who had moved from the Buffalo area, and she called it “pop”, and we would always tease her about it, haha.

If I didn't know specifically what's in the glass, "soda" is what I'd say.  There are occasions when "cola" was an alternative if the contents in the glass were colored like Coke, Pepsi, etc.
