One of the incorrect answers to my previous question has inspired this one. Here's another old kitchen tool you don't see so often these days. It's operated with two hands, But what is it for? Clue, it's not for rolling out pastry. Have a guess.

Was it used to core and peel apples, before they'd turn to mash.

Back in the days of Grandma's kitchen, when time moved slow and sweet,
This tool was a staple, a helper, a friend at each mealtime meet.
Apples picked from the orchard, fresh and crisp and fine,
Were transformed into pies, sauces, and ciders divine.

God gave us fruits of the earth, and we learned to use 'em right,
With tools like this her thingie, we'd work from dawn till night.
Now, modern ways have taken over, left this gadget behind,
But in our hearts, we still recall, the simpler times we'd find.

Maybe it's time to revisit, those old kitchen traditions we've gained.
For in the South, we value heritage, and the tools that helped us thrive,
So let's dust off that corer, and teach the young ones how to slice and dice, with pride.
