Ok, I love these comments because I thought I was just over exaggerating on my shopping. I'm at the grocery store twice a week every week. I purchase a lot of perishable items.

Fresh vegetables are important to me and a week is a long time for them. I have an advantage in that a supermarket is across the road and a tram stop is right at it. Many people get off the tram and go straight into it (including myself) in the evening

. If I had to as much as a kilometre to travel I wouldn't be such a frequent shopper.

As to how much, it might be as little as $5 but the super market has a cafe in it and it makes really decent coffee. If I spend $30 I get a free one - that is an effective 17% discount.

If I immediately need $20 of food than I will increase to a $30 spend with proactive purchases. If I need say $60 of items, I will either defer some purchases or make two $30 purchases. So generally I'd hover just over $30.

£20 every week, and half of that is just junk I don't need but want. So in a month that's £60-80. If I really wanted to I could spend £10. I eat mostly pizza, chicken and chips all premade ready to go.

I don't believe a single Brit when they say food costs to much, though they love to say it does. Now an American oh I believe them because I've seen it went there in 2023 and the cheap pizza was nasty and expensive.

Unless there is a pre-planned party ahead, the only groceries bought for the household are for consumption by me, my husband and our pets.
