I maintain that the only countries that are good at pizza nowadays is Sweden, and to a lesser extent its neighbours along with Brazil.

Every other country is just a disappointment. Even Italy while not awful is simply very boring with their pizzas and while the basic dish is fine, you don't salivate over basic.

American pizza is about as close to pizza as American football is to football. So while tasty in its own unhealthy way, not a pizza.
