What do you do when one of your favourite products becomes discontinued?

My favourite brand of peanut butter recently got discontinued. I’ve been buying this same type for over 10 years. Not sure what to do now. It’s a toss up between never have peanut butter again or risk trying new grosser ones lol. Im a creature of habit, I stick to the same products that I like until I can’t get them anymore.

It depends on the product. I used to buy Black Cat peanut butter because it was the last brand still being sold in glass rather than plastic here. They've switched to plastic now so I've stopped eating it. My son is 6, so I can't cut the product out completely until I've got a processor capable of making it myself again.

I actively avoid anything in plastic as I have enough health issues without adding microplastics to my food. If I can't get a product in glass and I have to have it then I transfer to glass as soon as I get home - milk especially.

Mostly I buy fresh these days and can or freeze it myself in safer containers. That way I know exactly what I'm putting in my body. Zero artificial flavouring, colour, sweetener. I use raw honey when it's affordable and I'm looking into homesteading. I've been researching for about 7 years now to have a foundation before I move ahead. There's a lot to learn.

That is a raw deal. My favorite kind of toothpaste was discontinued over 30 years ago and I still have not gotten over it.

There is a local place that makes peanut butter. If you look at the ingredients it just says "Peanuts, Salt". I have driven past the factory in the past and it smells like roasted peanuts. You can buy their products online. Maybe you can give it a try.

It's very disheartening when you can no longer buy your favorite things at the grocery store especially if it's been discontinued because you can't just go to another store and buy it.
There was an article on my phone about 10 items that you will no longer see at the grocery store - but I didn't read the article. Perhaps your favorite peanut butter was one of them.
I think that this is going to happen a lot more because of the illegals being deported and not enough people to pick fresh vegetables, fruit 🍓🍑 and nuts. That could be the reason why your peanut butter was discontinued because there weren't enough people to harvest the peanuts 🥜?

What were you eating? I liked Smucker's all natural peanut butter. I don't know if it's still available. If I were still eating peanut butter I would choose one of the several unsweetened peanut butters available. There are quite a few choices on Amazon.

I usually have the opposite problem - so many extra "varieties" are added to the original brand (Oreo cookies, case in point - but I gave them up years ago), makes the original brand harder to find on the shelves.

Sadly it’s a fact of life. Bean counters ruin everything. Start by calling the manufacturer to let them know your feelings about it. Ask them if they sell the same thing under a different name or if it’s sold elsewhere. I have found some products get discontinued in one country but are still available elsewhere and sometimes available online.

try to find something similiar. better yet, work to make your own and then start your own company!

keep in mind, there's a reason it is not available anymore. That could be due to ingredients not available.
