You can still hangout and stay sober.. I used to do that a lot when I was younger. Just make sure they aren't putting all the responsibility on you to look after them or anything like that since they should know when to stop drinking and control themselves.

My man is alcoholic, he could drink ma whole bottle of whiskey and still sober. And me, i drink only to accompany him with mostly only orders cocktails and few shots and pass out in the club.

I gave up alcohol over 25 years ago. I stopped hanging out with my friends about the same time. I am not sure if one thing had anything to do with the other or if I just got tooo busy.

You can just drink non alcoholic drink just orange juice or non alcohol cocktail. in France all bar propose non alcoholic drink as a lot of the population do not drink
