What goes on apple pie?

Do Americans have custard or is that just an European thing? Anyways here's a poll, what do you like on apple pie?

Whipped cream goes on top of apple pie, ice cream on the side.

Proper eating: With a fork or spoon, you take a piece of pie with some whipped cream on it, then add a bit of ice cream from the side, before popping it in your mouth.

I've never seen anyone put ice cream on top of the slice of pie.

Cheddar Cheese? In the land of apple pie you can’t go wrong with a scoop or three of ice cream especially if the apple pie is warm & the ice cream slowly melts.
