Cawl is the most well-known. It's a rustic lamb and veg soup similar to lobscouse. Every family has their own version but it's always recognisable. 99% of people who ordered it in a restaurant only do so they can bitch about how its not as good as their mothers

That’s almost impossible to say in the US. There are so many regional dishes that could qualify.

I guess you could say hamburger /cheeseburger is associated with the US. Hotdogs would be another. Not a favorite of mine.
