In Germany, we have always looked to America. Properly German. Lots of vegetables and ma weekend a roast. But that was a long time ago. In the meantime, we eat a lot of meat. Or even meat substitutes.
If you go back to the original eat. Lots of potatoes. Lots of vegetables but seasonal. What is growing in the garden. Globalization has said that everything is always available and even fruits and vegetables that are not normally available in our country.
Typically German are perhaps soups like lentil soup and potato soup or simply various vegetables and a little pancetta or sausages for the hearty taste but not in the mass in which meat is eaten today. Back then meat was more expensive and people didn't really value meat. Today there is cheap meat from animal husbandry, which borders on cruelty to animals.
Potatoes were an essential part of meals along with bread. Hot at lunch and cold in the morning and evening. Bread with homemade jam or cheese. Wurst was rare.
Today people eat much more unhealthy. Bread comes less from the baker traditionally made but from the factory and the discount store. The difference are the ingredients but also that the dough no longer has time to rest.
This certainly results in other diseases, which I call diseases of prosperity.
So nowadays the food in Germany is more and more similar to the food in America. We want what we don't have here and forget our roots. It is normal that the fruits of the neighbor's garden taste better than our own.
Currywurst - good - is rarely found. Really good homemade sauce is rare and I myself wouldn't even know where to get it.
Cooking for yourself without ready-made products is what once made our cuisine in Germany special.

Welsh rarebit should suit your American palate. Make a basic roux and pour in beer (not bud light) add a shit load of cheese and a little mustard to taste until you get a thick sauce. Feel free to break with tradition and add onions or chills if you wish (I do). Toast a thick slice of sourdough on one side, flip over and pour a lot of sauce over, sprinkle with Worchester sauce (Thai fish sauce works too) and grill until bubbly and brown. Top with a fried egg and bacon if you so fancy. Similar to a Kentucky hot brown or the french welch complet
No need to rant on America because you are in a bubble. There are many authentic restaurants, Chinese and otherwise, in the US. I think BBQ ribs is very American by the way. I knew a Frenchman who would come over and thatâs what he wanted as he couldnât get it in Paris.
Try Thai food, get Panag Chicken and I think you will really like it. Thai food is delicious and usually authentic. If you want it truly authentic, as I for âThai hotâ but I would strongly suggest not unless you like extremely spicy hot food. Also try some Indian Curry such as Butter Chicken which a lot of people like. Even some authentic Italian is amazing.
honestly, i don't think germany even has a good one. like if you go to get fast food or even just for a restaurant, there's really no "german food" restaurants. all just italian, Asian, American, turkish, Spanish or otherwise exotic.
i guess the only "german" thing that is actually really good is "Schnitzel mit Pommes". which is basically flat beat meat with breading and some sauce + fries. or Currywurst, which is just a freaking sausage with ketchup and curry.not exactly very special and actually quite unhealthy.

france: steak à la sauce béarnaise & frites (steak with bearnaise sauce & fries), moules frites (marinated mussels & fries), escargot (sea snails marinated), tomates farcies (boiled tomatoes with meat filling inside), very fresh still warm authentic right from the bakery baguette, fresh real croissant, kougeloff (alsacian (from alsace, french region) cake, that's kinda like brioche that you can eat for breakfast), fondue (melted hot cheese pot, where you gotta dip bread pieces with a pike and have the cheese wrap around it), flammekueche (alsacian rectangle pizza, cheese with ham on it), spaetzle (alsacian pasta)
i'm also part American but dont think you looking for us food recs so will skip
It is a cottage cheese dish named 'Butter Paneer Masala'. Paneer is the Hindi word of Indian Cottage cheese and I basically love every Paneer dish.
This is Butter Paneer Masala paired with Naan (a sort of bread). BPM is a side dish though and is taken is less quantity that Naan unlike shown in this picture. But hey! I won't mind have a bowl of BPM without pairing it with rice or bread.
My favorite Indonesian food :
We do not have a national cuisine, we have strong regional cuisines. I can pretty much recommend you everything from this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swabian_cuisine
The classic British Fish and Chips.
Grape leaves stuffed with minced meat, rice, and various vegetables/spices. Known as âdolmaâ.
I love that good ol southern home cooking. Honey baked ham with homegrown lima beans and K&W style Mac and cheese or cheerwine. I love rice cooked in chicken broth, 4 cheese mashed potatoes and homegrown green beans and potatoes. Of course I won't forget about desserts. Homemade banana pudding, peanut butter and made from scratch pound cake are my faves.

From my mums country pepperpot. It's only eaten at Christmas so it's a real treat. It's origins are from the native Americans there
Iâm Middle Eastern. I like kuba and spring rolls. Theyâre more side dishes but oh well. Omg and I love hummus!
I don't know there's too many that are good but maybe blanquette de veau, it's veal meat with cream, rice, carrots and mushroom. it's really delicious I used to eat it nearly every weeks as a child. Or cassoulet.
Americaâs pizza > Italian pizza
Americaâs burgers > any other country
America takes different cultural foods and makes it better, fattier, and tastier. For uniquely American, I'd say my fav is smoked BBQ baby back ribs with BBQ baked beans, cole slaw, and steak fries. Lots of spicy BBQ sauce for the ribs and for dipping the fries.
i have no favorite because i like too many but i can recommend yoy to cook bicol express please google it you can use any meat
Beef kabob
Well England has nothing, luckily I have some Irish in my gene pool and can offer colcannon and Guinness beef stew

Homemade Thanksgiving all the works. From now on your new name is Block Boy
I'm Irish and Italian mix. I'd say my favourite would be real spaghetti bolognese with a good red wine made from scratch. It's the ultimate comfort food.
Not really a big fan of most Irish food cause it's very basic and starchy. Just my opinion
