Girls, Have you ever made a homemade pie. Did you use the canned pie filling, what is your recipe?

lol I I've made quite a few. I've used canned filling a few times, but If i'm going to make a home made pie I usually like to use fresh fruit. Apple, and blueberry is my favorite. I've never made a pumpkin pie from scratch, so maybe I will do it this fall.

Not being from the US, I do home pies from time to time but not the way you do it in the States with a dough cover over the pie. I do my own dough with flower, eggs and water and then prepare a mold where I place the rolled out dough in eat and then fill with fruit, usually apricots, pears or apples.

Then I add a little sugar for the apricot pies and also add ground almonds and finally pour some beaten egg mixed with milk to give it that creamy taste. The sugar takes a little of the sourness away from the apricots.

Nicest times would be May and September-October. Plenty to see in the U. K., from the South all the way to Scotland and if you go, beware of Nessie. He is known to eat innocent tourists 🤣

When I make pies - I usually make savory pies. 😅

I did make my grandma's "happy marriage pie" not that long ago. Not everyone makes it as a "pie" tho - some make it as more of a "danish" and it contains rhubarb yam but we always got it as one. So I say it counts.

Sugar, flour, baking powder, oatmeal, margarine and egg - and of course the rhubarb yam.

no I’ve made by before no cans and it tastes forever. A lot of vanilla extract recipes are easy. You just add whatever you want later.
