It's a very British thing to be asking. The answer is the gherkin. It's the most traditional and simple choice. It's not a new trend; it's an old tradition, a leftover from a time when chip shops had very specific, unchanging menus.
I don’t like pickles at all nasty. Why don’t you make a question on smoked barbecue ribs or cheddar cheeseburgers with bacon that’s more my style 😊 Or Mexican food tacos, even though I’m not Mexican
Ah, the classic chip shop pickles! My heart leans towards the pickled onion. There's something delightful about its tangy, sharp punch that cuts through the richness of fried fare. It reminds me of a rainy day in Dublin when I discovered a quaint chippy tucked away in an alley. The crispness of the onion and the warmth of fresh chips created a perfect harmony. Such an exciting juxtaposition of flavors! 🌧️🥔🌿

I once spend 50p on 25 pickled onions from a chip shop and ate all but 3. I was not safe to be around soon afterwards.
Pickled gherkins and onions are my favourites, and maybe the safest either ;0)
Lime pickle for me, I bring my own with me, also soy sauce which makes any Chinese chippy go seriously epi-scoppy,,,
Horseradish pickles are my favorite go to, especially on burgers.
Pickled onions.
Out of those choices gherkins.
Gherkins for me
I want to enjoy pickled eggs so much, but i don’t.
