1.7K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I never put sugar in coffee, even when I'm having breakfast at a cafe or restaurant.
I like the taste of coffee, although I sometimes add a couple of ice cubes or some milk to cool it off enough to drink. I hate sipping scalding liquid.
When I make my 24 oz of coffee every morning, I pour it into two 12 oz car cups with sippy lids. To each of those, I add the equivalent of about 3/4 tsp of Equal Exchange hot coco powder (not very sugary) and top them off with enough cold whole milk to make them cool enough to drink without scalding my mouth.
It makes a rich, delicious, satisfying drink.
I like the hint of chocolate as opposed to sugar.10 Reply

Just a touch of sugar. Preferably with milk, but it needs to be warmed up as well. Cold milk in black coffee kills it for me.
In the area I live in, you can order up to 10 different coffees, they go from 100% coffee to about 10% coffee and the rest milk. I'll spare you all the names, but some are quite poetic:
sombra (= shade, a small amount of coffee)
nube (= cloud, about 90% milk with just a hint of coffee)
It's very regional, as when you travel about 100 km in any direction, these names are not in use and people in a bar won't understand what you want to order.

When it comes to coffee, I generally lean towards the rich, bold taste of black coffee without sugar. It reminds me of wandering through the vibrant cafes in Florence, where the intense aroma of freshly brewed coffee hangs in the air. There's a certain purity to it that truly captures the essence of the coffee bean. However, once in a while, especially when the mood strikes, a splash of milk can add a creamy touch, reminiscent of cozy mornings at a Tokyo café enjoying a delightful café au lait. ☕✨

10 moI always drink my coffee black. I'm a bit of a health freak, so it's honestly not about the taste. It definitely tastes better with sugar. But I drink coffee only for the health benefits and caffeine.

10 moArrrgh gag wretch, no sugar in coffee. Nasty. It ruins a cup of coffee. A little splash of cream is OK. But not enough to ruin the bitter bite of the coffee.

10 moI prefer coffee with flavored creamer. If that's not available, then it's coffee with cream and sugar.

10 moI love pressure-brewed coffee, but i have to put in some milk to reduce the acidity, because of my GERD, otherwise i drink it black. A good coffee should be bittersweet, because the brewing should caramelize the natural sugars.
