What do elves drink?

Tonight's beverage is a glass of oatmeal stout. I'm assuming it's a health drink because oats are healthy, it's virtually drinking porridge. Plus on the side it states, "with hints of chocolate, liquorice and dandelion and burdock."

But the main thing is it has a picture of a Christmas elf on it and no elf would lend his image to an unhealthy beverage.

But it got me thinking. Santa gets sherry in every British house and milk in the USA. But no one ever thinks of the elves. Even the reindeers get carrots left out but no one leaves anything for the hard working elves.

Santa's fat, elves are not. Says everything doesn't it?

Those hints of chocolate, liquorice, dandelion and burdock are just a way to describe a beverage. You will see the same with wine. I have a hard time recognizing all those flavours individually.

As for the elves, who knows what they are up to when they get around or inside your house. They may be partying all night long. Santa Claus, the Elves, the Three Kings (Spain) and Sinterklaas (Belgium and the Netherlands) all have one thing in common: they act at night and you know the night puts a veil on things.

Oh, we thought of the elves in our house and it was not milk or liquid porridge they got but I think in general there is a reason they don't let elves drink. They're related to leprechauns, you know and they can be rascals when drinking. Same with elves. It's what inspired the classic Christmas song, "Grandma got run over by a reindeer."
