Have you ever witnessed unhygienic behaviour in your local supermarket?

Some people are too selfish to think about the rest of us. Witnessed lately:

- a guy filling a bag with bread with bare hands (although plastic gloves are mandatory), then changing his mind and putting some of it back, dropping one on the floor

- a woman opening several boxes of 12 eggs, inspecting each one and selecting the biggest ones to make her own personal 12-egg box

- people putting refrigerated drinks or food in their cart, changing their mind somewhere near cash-out and just leaving it on any shelf they can find

I don't like it when people touch the fruits and vegetables because I don't know where their hands have been before they fondled each one until they finally chose the ones they wanted

Then other people come along and grope the same 🍓 🍑 and vegetables 🍆 and by the time so many people have handled them I don't want to eat them.

I have always rinsed all of my fresh fruits and fresh vegetables as soon as I came home from the store.

Most stores require you to use plastic gloves. Of course, it just takes one person not following the requirement to spoil it for all those who do.

But of course we should clean them. And think about the checkout conveyor belt and how unsanitary it is for all your things touching it.

A homeless guy eating as much as he could from the self-service salad bar then legging it when security came.

And not just homeless people. Last summer, a couple with two young kids, kids grabbing croissants from the bakery section and eating them. The father told them to eat all of it before check out, otherwise he would have to pay for it.

my biggest issue in today's world is the number of people bringing their dogs into the grocery store. i love dogs. i have dogs. i don't see a single way dogs (with fleas, worms, licked privates, mouths full of germs) is at all hygenic/sanitary in grocery stores.

Yes, I’ve seen some nasty things in supermarkets too 😅

Once I watched a man squeeze almost every avocado, then put a bruised one back after digging his thumb into it. Another time, a kid licked a soft-serve ice cream machine handle and the parents walked away.

Since then, I treat unpackaged food like street food in a very sketchy alley and wash everything like crazy.

Sneezing on produce. Staff member coming out of the bathroom after doing the dirtiest smelling shit you ever smelt without washing his hands.
