What's a food everyone loves that you never did like?

For me it's the "slop bowls" and other weird mashups the restaurants are making now that people run to in droves. And I cannot understand for the life of me how places like P. F. Changs and Panda Express can be so popular, that stuff is the fakest Chinese food ever.

Other ones for me are cheese pizza, cheese dogs, chicken parmesan, and sunny side up eggs. What's yours, everyone?

I find 'white' poultry meat to be extremely unpalatable, no matter how it's prepared.
I don't know how people choke that dry cardboard down their throats.
I can't do it without being in danger of needing Heimlich assistance at the ready.

Chicken finger and chicken sandwich places have rapidly displaced all of my favorite food joints in my area.

The same with Panda and Chang's, too.
They're all disgusting to me, yet the drive-through lines for those places wrap around buildings and extend into the streets around me, requiring the local police to then have to deal with the traffic tie-ups on major surface streets.
It's insane.

As for myself, today, I'm smoking a brisket in my backyard smoker.

I use chicken thighs mainly, drumsticks as a second if I have to, and wings if I'm desperate for a few bites more.
The back and neck are pretty good, too.
They're a bit of work, but worth the trouble to pick at them.

My wife would then eat the breast meat, but she very recently passed away, so no more whole chickens will be bought by me, to only end up throwing half of them away.

Oh yeah, hummus is another no-go for me.
Nuh uh, no way.

I prepare my hen-fruit over medium, so no sunny side up, like you.
Cheese only does not a pizza make.
Cheese dogs, yuck.
Chicken parm, I've already discussed, under the heading of cardboard.

I get the chicken breast complaint. I think the only way chicken breast works is either fried chicken or a pounded breaded fried cutlet like chicken parmigiana. For me the best part of the chicken in almost every case is the thighs. Put it on the grill, the smoker, in a stew or soup, bake it, whatever. The thighs never come out dry and chewy. Perfect balance of lean protein and fat. And chicken thighs are pretty cheap. I can buy a 10 pack for around $10. I don't understand why chicken breast meat is priced and marketed as the "premium" option.

Watermelon was another food liked by everyone I knew, but not me.

I finally came to appreciate watermelon just last summer.

My wife, dying of brain cancer at the time, now passed, had always loved watermelon, so I got one for her, iced it down in brine to 32 degrees for a couple of hours, and made a big, outdoor, fancy, watermelon party production out of it.
Complete with our 'fancy' plastic outdoor party plates.
Lol.

She'd been having severe difficulties with speech already for months, but once our 'party' began, she began speaking, almost free of difficulty, about her childhood, with her dad always supplying watermelons from his garden and inviting all the neighborhood kids to come to their house for watermelon parties.

I took some of that watermelon to eat for myself, hoping like crazy that I'd finally like it.
It tasted so good to me.
I started frickin' crying my eyes out.
Like I'm crying right now, too.

Fortunately my brother is a slender eating machine and ate mine too.
