I just googled a coffee shop I used to love to see if they had any special items I could buy today and eat on Canada tomorrow, and I realized they had reduced all the best items on their inventory since those cost more to make, and I thought if I am going to eat plain food, I can do that at home, the purpose of visiting a restaurant is to get something better then what you can get when you make the food yourself. I plan on not shopping there again, the pandemic and the trump battles, have killed their profit margins and their business is no longer flavourful.

Yes, many restaurants lose loyal customers when their food slips from special to average. People, like you, go out for flavor, creativity, or comfort they cannot easily recreate at home.
I once loved a tiny Tokyo café for its matcha tiramisu; when they switched to cheaper ingredients, the magic disappeared and so did the regulars. Consistency and quality are everything in hospitality. When that goes, loyalty usually follows. 🍽️☕
