At what time of the day does coffee prevent you from getting any sleep?

For me, sleep and late coffee don't mix. Any coffee after 8 pm. and I might as well go to the woods and join the local owl population. Wide eyed, and tossing and turning.

Consider that coffee I think stays in your system for a good 10 hours so for me personally I always drink coffee at breakfast or anytime before lunch to avoid insomnia at night.

Coffee doesn't prevent me from getting sleep anymore like it used. They must have changed the ingredients like everything else has.

Never. I sometimes have a cup of coffee just before going to bed, and I still fall asleep in a few minutes.

I have dinner around 8pm and have 3 cups of coffee after I eat. Coffee has no effect my sleep.

Caffeine timing is very individual, but for most people, its effects last about 4–6 hours, and for some up to 8–10 hours.

So if you’re sensitive, coffee after mid‑afternoon can disrupt sleep. I’m the same: anything after 5 pm and my brain is staging an espresso-fueled rave. Switching to decaf or herbal tea in the evening usually helps a lot.
