Years ago, I was told you could tell if a man was straight or not by how he cuts his sandwiches. Boys were often taught by their parents to cut them the proper way lest they be ridiculed.

I thought it nonsense, but after watching numerous men, I've concluded there's a link between political standing and sandwich cut.

So let's find out

I always knew I was odd and you have confirmed it with this question..

As a highly conservative hetero, when I make a sandwich I slap two slices of bread together with something in between. That's it.

If I do get fancy than the cut would angle up from the lower left to the top right symbolizing right thinking.

I do acknowledge an advantage of the triangle cut. You can stuff more than half of the triangle into your maw with one bite.

Regrettably you didn't provide a suitable right wing hetero option.

I am trying to think if I have ever cut a sandwich before, and I don't think I have. Where is the choice for politically indifferent and I can just hold a whole sandwich in my hand and start biting it without turning it into finger food first?

I don't really have a particular way that I cut sandwiches. I usually don't cut it at all. Most the bread I use isn't square shaped either (because I usually have rye or sourdough bread). I admit that diagonal cutting looks more aesthetically pleasing than the vertical or horizontal cut when it comes to those square pieces though.

I don’t cut my own sammiches.
When i make sammiches for kids, i cut them corner to corner. It gives them less messy bite options at the corners. Some kids don’t seem to care and bite out of a straight edge anyway, getting schmutz all over their face. It’s hilariously dumb looking, but i’m sure it tastes the same. Ell oh ell!

Where... in the cases where I do cut a sandwich, I might be confronted by some people about cuttig it with my left hand... anyhow, I would not label this a 'commie-cut', unless you grew up, and never left, Florida.

I'm a liberal and I haven't made a sandwich on bread like that in a very long time. The last time I recall was when we baked our own, and if the loaf was large enough to need halving a sandwich, I'd cut it diagonally for my S. O., because she likes it that way, and down the middle for myself.

Now most of our sandwiches are made on baguettes, so they're usually just cut in half, straight across.

I cut diagonally and am a straight conservative. As a child it was cut straight. As I aged it was cut diagonally. Now I cut it diagonally if I have such a sandwich and decide to cut it. My last sandwich was on a toasted plain bagel and uncut.
