They have varying degrees of hotness.
A friend of mine would go to the store and buy a big bag of chili peppers and eat them like candy! She'd been doing that most of her life. One day, my brother got some extremely hot peppers that he liked (I know how to say it but have no clue how to spell it, juaveniaro?) and let her try some and even just taking a tiny nip of one, she couldn't take it!!
